Date A Live Final Episode

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 12 [436F9F0A].mkv_snapshot_02.03_[2013.06.22_13.03.37]

Well, that pretty much went the way anyone would expect it to go. So this show’s the first show that’s ending this season for me? Who would have thought? Anyway, it’s far from over anyway. The ending has no resolution and there are still plenty of loose ends. And that will have to wait for the second season, which has been confirmed (not that I have to worry about it).

Looks like there isn’t a shortage of stuff for a second season. I imagine whoever gave Kotori Spirit powers is a potential enemy. There are probably more spirits to fight. We still don’t know why Shido is different the way he is. And Kurumi is still floating about.

Date A Live Episode 11: Race against the clock

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 11 [EDAD6F39].mkv_snapshot_05.20_[2013.06.16_12.50.04]

Wait…is Shido doing a repeat of his three dates at once experience? This guy is nuts. Anyway, time is running out for Kotori…but naturally, Shido knows something about her powers that no one else does. If only he could just remember it. Convenient amnesia can be pretty inconvenient sometimes, right? Random side note: that suit is supposed to be a single unit with the power of an entire AST squad, right? Isn’t an entire AST square pretty weak?

So everything comes down to the last episode next week. Kurumi seems to have basically been forgotten…Kotori still needs to be resolved. Origami still has to fight her and it looks from the preview like Tohka and Yoshino will be helping. And it will probably end with Shido stopping Kotori’s rampage at the last second. Are we done yet?

Date A Live Episode 10: And suddenly switch to another girl

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 10 [270EC88E].mkv_snapshot_08.23_[2013.06.09_12.38.13]

Wait wait wait…they didn’t finish with Kurumi yet…they’re already going to Kotori? There’s the vendetta with Origami and the time limit thrown in for Kotori, so it’s almost like Kurumi has just been pushed aside. Does that mean she’s dead? Don’t get me wrong…I’m fine with that. You just gotta tell me.

Anyway, looks like a pretty hard focus on Kotori next week. So what’s the plan? Save her next week, then wrap up things with Kurumi? But don’t they need time for Origami and Kotori to have their epic fight? That’s gotta be half an episode at least. Or maybe someone is lying to me about how many episodes are left.

Date A Live Episode 9: Get time on your side

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 09 [460423DF].mkv_snapshot_21.49_[2013.06.02_09.05.34]

So Kurumi uses time to manipulate time. It’s a reasonable cost for her power, but it makes me wonder. Do Tohka and Yoshino’s powers have a similar cost? Do they sacrifice something as well in order to use their powers? It doesn’t make sense that Kurumi is the only one with a cost just because she has a strong ability.

And suddenly Kotori in Spirit form. Quite a crazed look she had there on the preview. Is she going to do something drastic? And why is there no image of Kurumi in the preview? Don’t tell me they just suddenly change gears or something…

Date A Live Episode 8: Triple date?!?

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 08 [95B0F1EC].mkv_snapshot_07.52_[2013.05.26_09.36.53]

Wow Shido…trying to do three dates at once? That’s some serious bravery you got there. Especially when one of them is nuts like Kurumi (and arguably Origami too). Well, the date seemed to go by without much incident. I guess they were just trying to get the Kurumi thing.

So is Kurumi supposed to join the cast or what? She seems so insane…like excessively so. It’s kinda creepy. Can we finally find out how her powers work already? Surely next week, we will. I know it has something to do with time manipulation, but that doesn’t exactly explain the guns and the weird vector hands she uses. Just kill her again, Mana, and explain everything.

Date A Live Episode 7: Another sister?

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 07 [5FA0ECEF].mkv_snapshot_10.00_[2013.05.19_11.51.48]

So we got some new characters, it seems, that are linked somehow. Could it be that the Spirit that Mana claims to have killed is actually Kurumi? Well, if we look on the evil side, Mana could have some partnership with Kurumi or something. But based on what is seen so far, the more likely explanation is simply that Mana is hunting Kurumi, who keeps reviving through time magic.

Well, it’s the first Spirit we’ve had who isn’t just scared, but actually has some malicious intent. We’ll see how Shido handles this…if Mana’s really his blood relative, that should mean she has similar abilities, right? When will she get to use those?

Date A Live Episode 6: I’ve seen enough anime to know where this is going

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 06 [F056B93A].mkv_snapshot_06.50_[2013.05.12_08.35.00]

So yeah…as I said last week, nothing happened this week. They went to a hot spring…stuff like that. Explosions were a nice touch, though. Every hot spring trip needs a little excitement, right? Anyway…that’s about all I got for this episode.

Looks like we’re taking a break from Spirits for a while…next week will be the introduction of a new character in the AST. I guess it’ll be a clash between her and Origami…she seems to have some relation to Shido too. Maybe she’ll get Origami to leave the AST or something.

Date A Live Episode 5: Origami the Opportunist

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 05 [DE35DFE9].mkv_snapshot_10.26_[2013.05.05_13.38.29]

Second Spirit get. That was pretty easy. This guy’s seriously building a harem…this can’t be good. Too bad the hint we got about his powers isn’t much of a hint…of course it has to have something to do with a Spirit if it affects Spirits in that way. Is he a Spirit or what? Yeesh…

Next week looks like more Yoshino stuff? Or just everyone in general? Kinda looks like everyone going out on a trip or something together. I don’t foresee anything substantial happening next week based on what I’ve seen in the preview. Don’t you agree?

Date A Live Episode 4: Date 2 Start

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 04 [BF482D17].mkv_snapshot_08.41_[2013.04.28_11.27.12]

A silent puppeteer type, huh? Kinda like Yukie from Majikoi, right? Shouldn’t the hundred waifus have been able to recognize that? Can we replace that guy with Keima or something? Anyway, other than introducing the next spirit to be captured, we have Tohka’s state to consider.

Seems her powers will return when she gets emotional…not something you want in a woman. I said it before…Keima had convenient memory loss…how is Shido going to handle relationships with these spirits all at once? That’s like next-level harem tactics or something. Either way, next week looks to be the capture of the second spirit…or at least he’ll be able to calm her down.

Date A Live Episode 3: Would you like to continue?

[FFF] DATE A LIVE - 03 [F8EF25DC].mkv_snapshot_02.02_[2013.04.21_09.24.37]

Shido died…oh wait. This guy has extra lives in real life? Keima would be so jealous. Looks like Shido isn’t normal after all…not only did he somehow resurrect himself, but he also was able to diffuse Tohka at the end with a kiss. If he had only done the second thing, I would think that maybe all Spirits would be like that with anyone. But it seems he’s special somehow. Don’t tell me…the whole show’s a game?

So…on to the next Spirit? First one captured? This is a game that gets exponentially harder with each win…sounds fun, right? With each Spirit, he has to balance the previous Spirits, after all. Almost makes Keima’s quests look like a walk in the park.
