Big Order Final(ly) Episode (10): And it’s over

Remember when we thought this was so charming and novel in the first episode? Yeah, me neither.

Eiji’s doing pretty well for having this sword in his stomach…not that I know what it feels like to be in his situation, but I would expect some girlish screaming to be happening right about now.

I know I’m harping on the same thing, but I still haven’t gotten an explanation for why Gennai is able to overwrite Eiji’s control. Sena clearly got Bind Dominator before any other Order and based on this memory, it looks like Eiji used Illegal Digger to rewrite memories soon after Sena got Bind Dominator. Why even bring up this explanation of “whoever got the power first overwrites the other” if you don’t even care enough to follow it?

Secondly, if Illegal Digger just vanished from Eiji’s head, does that mean he no longer has Bind Dominator?

Aaaaaaand Eiji loses his hand again.

This makes sooooooo much sense…

It’s like they couldn’t decide whether or not they wanted to make this series a hentai.

Oh hey…they didn’t forget about the fusion mechanic. That’s…something.

They’re not even trying with Franc’s mouth right here…it starts moving at the start of the sentence and stays still for the rest of it. I suppose the perpetual grayscale is proof enough that the animators got lazy, but this is just frustrating. Also, let’s randomly put a restriction on Hiiragi’s seemingly unbeatable power for the final episode.

No further comments on this show…I’m running for the door. It’s clear that not even the people producing the series cared enough about this final episode based on all of the lazy animation (Sena’s mouth movements while she wasn’t saying anything was the worst of it), so why should I care?

Big Order Episode 9: All this talk about what’s real and what’s fake makes me wish this show wasn’t real

I feel like I’m fine with the episode if it spends most of its time with people blaming Eiji. I’m going to pretend like I’m not watching softcore porn (which is becoming more hardcore by the minute).

Uhh…dude? The guy with the dimension blade killed Kamimusubi while Eiji was standing right next to her and you’re just letting this girl stand out in the open on top of a rock where anyone could kill her? Yeah, nice job securing her.

Also, the fact that they’re drawing so much attention to the fact that they’ve successfully secured the priestesses means that this action will be ultimately meaningless.

Wait…in what way does this mean he can’t have sex with Iyo right now? I mean…having sex with her now makes no sense, but this is not a valid reason to deny it. Heck…it’s not like it would waste much time (plus, I’m sure it would help out a lot with BD sales, am I right?).

Gasp! The father in Eiji and Sena’s memories was fake? And everyone was surprised!

Ugh…this guy’s voice…

Ugh…they’re really forcing Rin to fall in love with Eiji? Screw this show, man…

Wow…they really are blaming everything on Eiji.

Okay, buddy…whatever you say. *has the crazy guy stopped talking yet?*

Okay, I get that this is supposed to be some dramatic battle where Gennai tries to release Sena’s memories, but why is this battle even happening in the first place? We learned earlier that the wish that was made first should overwrite subsequent wishes, so it should be clear who the winner is. This scene only makes sense if its setting up some future scene where Eiji overwrites Gennai’s power.

Yeah, dude…nice job securing her. See what I mean?

WHY DOESN’T HE DO THIS ALL THE TIME?

I’m way too distracted by the distortion in Gennai’s face to pay attention to what he’s saying right now.

This is supposed to be some sort of convoluted “escapism” message, and as someone who watches anime, I feel like I should be insulted.

Also, let me get this straight. Gennai’s proposition is that Eiji wishes for a world where he and Sena are happy, thus creating a universe in which this is true. However, the current Eiji would still only exist in his current world, meaning that he would just be ensuring that somewhere somehow there’s an Eiji who is living happily with a Sena. Who would be satisfied with this?

Heck, given the concept of the multiverse, we actually have no way of knowing that this isn’t the case already. The only difference after this experiment is that we ensure it is the case…which is supposed to be comforting?

Uhh…no. If the current world’s Eiji just ate a cracker and the other world’s Eiji just ate a steak, their bodies would have different atoms. Also, given what we know about the brain and how it changes state, this is just categorically false.

I am totally okay with this.

Well…it’s almost done. I feel like this show was trying to make some deep philosophical argument, but…that’s not how you deliver an argument about “identity” and “reality”.

Big Order Episode 8: Just when I thought it couldn’t get more crazy…

I refuse to believe this. Let’s say there’s someone who used an Order to plant the false memory of Gennai’s death into Sena’s brain. If my understanding of neuroscience is correct, her brain should have found an explanation for this rather than leaving this glaring inconsistency that allows her to realize it’s a fake memory. And even if I’m willing to believe that the brain doesn’t in fact do that, you expect me to believe Sena hasn’t noticed this inconsistency up to now?

Wait…what? I mean…you’re the expert, but I say that pentagram looks nothing like the coil. Maybe you mean to say that this formation produces the same effect as the coil, but in a natural way, which is more acceptable…but how do you even know that?

Even the translator has given up on this show…

I believe that. Sounds easy!

Sure, we needed to see this…filler in a 10-episode series.

Anyone else have a hard time believing that in this world post-Great Destruction, the press works exactly the same way as it does in a regular world?

You just came to the realization that your memory of your father’s death was altered, right? Why is it not a stretch to think that this memory is also altered? How can she be so certain that her memories of her father are correct?

Aaaaaaand Sena goes back to be being the damsel in distress. She was almost useful.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! SENA’S SCREAMING FACE! HAHAHA!

I’m not even paying attention to what these people are saying anymore…just wondering how Eiji isn’t dead from losing this much blood. Also, this series cuts off Eiji’s limbs like it’s Star Wars.

One of these days, Eiji will use his power on his opponent instead of randomly punching like this…one of these days.

And we’re still not going to explain to you why Hiiragi can heal Eiji after the battle is over, but couldn’t heal Kamimusubi.

Whoa…wait…wha- I- uh- er- wha-?

Big Order Episode 7: It’s all so shocking!

On the bright side, Eiji starts off the episode by not being a complete idiot. That’s a positive, right? Now we give Hiiragi the perfect opportunity to give some ridiculous reason why his power won’t work.

Also, I like how they just confirm Kamimusubi is dead from last week’s episode like it’s a side note.

This…doesn’t really pass as dialogue. The way that they casually let this guy tell Eiji that he might not have caused the Great Destruction is actually frustrating.

Interesting…usually research is a discovery of the mechanisms of reality, so I guess the reason Hiiragi’s wish involves rejecting reality involves hating his obsession with research?

Using a coil to harness a new kind of energy? Where have I seen this before?

The light! It’s like it’s coming from two different places!

Side note: Hiiragi mentions that after “some day”, Gennai’s personality changed. Was it after the creating of Daisy? Or was there some tragic event that led to the creation of Daisy?

So…his wish was that the reality of Gennai was a lie? Fair enough.

I would say that this Daisy timing was really convenient, but she proceeds to completely derail Eiji from his train of thought with Rin’s message, so it’s really just a distraction.

Wait…how long has she been able to control light? You mean they could have made the very easy joke that the light beams were coming from her power? Come on, man! You had the perfect opportunity!

I’m guessing this is forced irony from the writer…the one who controls light is useless without her vision. However, if you knew anything about how nearsightedness works, you’d know that it’s caused by light refracting incorrectly when it enters your eye so that it focuses on the wrong spot…you know, something that a person with the power to control light would probably be able to fix pretty easily. Just saying.

The scene where the ribbons come out of her hair is dramatic and all, but it begs the question of why the ribbon wasn’t already untied from her first shot.

To me, this scene is everything that’s wrong with this episode. You have Iyo, who can see the future, and her only appearance in this entire operation is just to tell the audience that Hiiragi will lose.

Guess what? All of your planning was pointless!

Aaaaand betrayed.

Uhh…Sena?

Everything you know is a lie! Well, the opening animation did seem to suggest Sena had a larger role to play in all of this, so I’m not all too surprised. The “good girl” demeanor is a bit weird, though.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, let’s make Rin spell it out.

So what am I supposed to take away from this episode? Sena’s not actually dying? She’s the real reason Kamimusubi is dead? Is it because she wanted to continue to use her impending death against Eiji? I mean, I think Sena becomes a lot more interesting of a character if she has no Order because it would mean that she’s the protagonist this story actually needed.

Big Order Episode 6: Fusion!

Wait, didn’t we find out that the guy behind everything was Eiji’s father? Eiji of all people should be the one that recognizes him. Also, apparently the wish of dominating people is genetic.

Okay, sure. But you should still be able to recognize his appearance, Eiji. I mean, even if you truly believe he’s dead, you could at least pretend like someone is using an Order to project his image or something. I’m not going to forgive you for being unable to recognize him so easily.

This is a great picture without context.

First off, what am I seeing here? Is this another diviner-type Order user that is canceling out Iyo’s powers? Similar to how Eiji is being overwritten by his father. If so, that’s way too convenient.

Also, screw you, Eiji. Iyo is holding the paper with the prediction right in front of you. Read it yourself. And don’t tell me “only Iyo can see the paper” because she clearly handed it to Eiji to read a minute ago.

I’m going to pretend he’s yelling with telepathy because voices underwater definitely don’t sound like that.

I don’t even know what’s going on anymore.

Ignore the clouds in the sky…there’s totally a light beam right here.

Yup, animation in this scene is totally drawing your attention to the ball bouncing up and down…

Also, when did Eiji put his shirt back on?

This apparently doesn’t count as “dropping the ball”.

Wait…didn’t Eiji destroy the world when he was like 6? I know we saw a post-apocalypse school in episode 1, but doesn’t this feel a little bit too “nice” to be a post-apocalypse school?

This is probably not a promise you should be making in a world where Orders that allow complete domination exist…

I’m willing to believe that it’s actually true that Iyo’s hand gestures are faster than words, but I have trouble rationalizing it. In order for this to work, Iyo has to read the message, translate it to the correct finger in her mind, and move the correct finger. Then Eiji has to sense the correct finger (remember he can’t actually see the fingers, so he has to know from the relative location of the touch), translate the finger back to the a direction in his mind, move accordingly. Directional words, on the other hand, are things that we practice from infancy and would therefore be much more quick to translate in our minds. HOWEVER, the one advantage that this strategy gives is that Kamimusubi would no longer be able to hear their intentions and would have a harder time adjusting based on their actions.

Wow…Sony has been pretty successful in this post-apocalyptic world.

Have I mentioned how much I love that people declare what their Order does when they use it? It doesn’t seem like lazy exposition at all!

She clearly says Eiji here in order to display that she wishes to become closer to him and unite their wishes like Kamimusubi suggests, but the subtitles here still put in the “sama”. One job, guys.

…I have no words for this.

They just stand there and let this happen. It’s not like they could have predicted it or anything, am I right?

Well, so much for saving Sena, I guess. If only Kamimusubi was standing behind Eiji, she would have been protected by the power of plot armor.

Big Order Episode 5: Power of the Light

Oh boy…so secretive and mysterious!

Also, this scene suggests that the man in the carriage is Eiji’s father…just thought I’d throw that out there.

Ahh, the light! It buuuuurrrns!

I don’t know what’s worse…the fact that this scene is all white or the fact that whoever made these subtitles still thought white text was a good idea.

Crap, guys! How do we explain the baby and how it was born? There’s no way we could make it a second Eiji, right? What if we just pretend like it never happened? Brilliant!

Hiiragi randomly decides to stop the time freeze on Sena because…well, reasons.

Convenient memory loss allows Eiji to explain away all of the events involving Sena and Rin. This is lazy!

Yep, that’s the definition of “atypical”…not fitting the typical things that you would normally classify. Heck, I’d at least try to be a little creative here with something like “you have a new type of leukemia that doesn’t fit any existing classifications.”

Also, yes leukemia is a blood-related disease, but why does that lead to all of the heart-based imagery in the opening song? I don’t think “heart” is the first thing you think of when someone says leukemia. Granted, most people probably think “that horrible disease that kills people”, but that’s not relevant here.

He can cure…incurable diseases? Thus making them curable? I’m assuming what Hiiragi actually means is that the guy just cures diseases, even the ones we can’t cure with medical science. But this delivery of the line just sounds silly. The alternative is that the power would somehow have to know the limits of our technology, so I doubt that’s the case.

Why is it both Big Order and Kabaneri have this Western character that speaks half-English, half-Japanese? Is that becoming a trope? Please tell me it isn’t.

Eiji decides to make the wheelchair holding Sena move towards him so he can what? Run away with her? Why wouldn’t you dominate the two people in front of you to force them to stand down and let you get away? I’d be less upset about this scene if it wasn’t immediately preceded with a scene where Hiiragi compliments Eiji’s control over his power.

Okay, I get it! The fire symbolizes Rin’s growing feelings for Eiji. Stop shoving it in my face all the time! It’s annoying.

 

…but why, though? So all you have to do is make the same wish as someone else and you’re immediately more powerful? That’s such a weird rule. It feels like this is only here to make Eiji’s power look more useless. There’s no logical reason this should be the case.

First off, why not? You can’t make up an arbitrary rule like “my power won’t work because they can’t hear me”. Did the wheelchair hear your command? Did the bullets hear your command?

Secondly, even if you want to force this random restriction, then direct the order to her hands…hands can’t hear. Heck, if you want to make that rule apply only to animate objects, command the headphones to fall off her head or command the headphones to broadcast your order to her if they have speakers. There are so many ways you can get around this.

Most importantly, why does Hanzou even need to use the headphones on Rin? We just got confirmation from Hiiragi that his power overwrites Eiji’s power, so why go through the precaution? Eiji can’t overwrite his power because Eiji’s wish came first, right?

You expect me to feel something about this scene? I know that Rin can just heal his hand later. Plus, why wouldn’t she cut his left hand, the one that he uses to activate his power.

Again, hard to feel sorrow when we know Rin can just restore them later.

And apparently, Hiiragi has the ability to make all of this stuff false. Why is there even tension at all in this series? Also, it looks like his power is denying reality. So…basically, he’s an otaku like us?

I’m really surprised Eiji isn’t pissed at Hiiragi for not using this BS power on Sena.

…and how did this guy get his wish after Eiji?

 

Big Order Episode 4: When in doubt, nuke it!

Seriously? Who calls a wireless radio a “wireless”? That word means so many things that calling it a “radio” is much less confusing. But yeah…the baby’s coming…for some reason.

Seriously…Eiji’s domain just takes whatever shape it wants. I’m starting to think his domain has a set amount of surface area or volume and he’s allowed to reshape it as he wishes. Still, this doesn’t fully answer my question about whether Rin can be dragged out of Eiji’s domain. It looks a lot like she’s consciously resisting here.

Pfft…what can a puny nuke do? Eiji will just use his power to turn it back.

And we’re back on this. Are we really going to ignore the nuke to deliver this baby?

Yup.

Dude, I’m asking the same question.

So she randomly reveals herself to the audience as someone trying to trick Rin…

…and Rin immediately turns on her. This makes no sense…it’s almost like the writers went “oh shoot, we need to make sure everyone knows this girl is an enemy before she starts fighting Rin!”

I can’t tell whether this guy is a genius or an idiot.

See? He gives his location away like an idiot. Also, this petrification really shouldn’t work on Rin…she’s able to bring dead flowers back to life and regenerate inanimate swords…there’s no reason why she can’t restore her body here. How does the petrification even work? The Order isn’t even touching Rin, just the sword…you’re telling me her power can transfer into Rin through the sword? Or is she just petrifying Rin from a distance and using the sword to keep her close?

He saved my family, so I care about him now!

WHY DOESN’T HE DO THIS ALL THE TIME???

Uhh…petrification involves turning living cells into stone…I would call that damage. Plus, how does her power even know what counts as damage? Isn’t damage by definition an altered state?

I have no idea why Eiji hasn’t dominated her yet. You can tell me “oh, he’s out of range, clearly”, but we saw his domain extending to Rin earlier. He used his Order on Rin over the radio, so why not extend it at the same time?

And now the blood from the stab wound is flowing freely.

Wait…does this actually work? Now, I want to test it…who’s with me?

Also, I always thought that nuclear explosions were usually set to detonate above the ground, rather than on impact, because less of the energy gets transferred into the crater below the explosion. Shouldn’t this missile be going off right about now?

Well, I don’t like to toss around the phrase “deus ex machina” too much, but this is pretty heavy “missile disintegration ex machina” if I’ve ever seen it…

Also, this guy jumps out of a plane and free falls down to the missile before punching it. You expect me to believe the missile with thrusters on the back wasn’t able to hit the ground before he reached it? Seriously, what? How nice of the missile to stay perfectly still while he dropped down to it.

Why do we even care? Just punch it again…

Eiji decides to try and push against her control of the Rock God rather than simply ordering her not to try and kill him…I really don’t understand.

Yeah, Eiji, thanks for waiting until the last hostage before doing something that would stop the killing of hostages…what a bro!

This is not how you create an anti-hero. Seriously, what the heck?

I don’t even understand anymore…

Well, this is convenient.

Big Order Episode 3: …What? Huh?

Oh hey…I remember this from the first episode.

I wonder who will get the focus in this week’s episode. Also…is she pregnant? That would certainly explain why Eiji’s power aimed low last week…maybe the power was aiming for the baby. Still, the great destruction event happen ten years prior to the series starting, so either that would have to mean the baby’s born or the power was given after the incident.

Surely there’s a time limit for this, right? It’s not like Fran can keep her frozen forever. Also, does he have to stay near her? If so, he’s pointless to the plot. If not, his power is a bit ridiculous…

…why exactly is that the case? Because the Order in charge is a powerful asset? Because the area holds a lot of influence in the world? Because it’s the most difficult to dominate?

Remember that thing Daisy said about lowering the range of your ability? That would be why.

I’m gonna go with “if the king doesn’t lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?” or whatever the quote is.

I noticed this!

Hopefully this is a strategy. If it were me, I would think that pretending like you’re being forced to help Eiji against your will would make it harder for people to attack you.

Kill the hostages to make them prove they’re not actually being controlled by Eiji? That actually works…

I mean…I get what he’s trying to do here by convincing the prime minister that he’s the one in control, but doesn’t this fall apart when someone sees one of these people alive? Also, I feel a bit insulted that the series tries so hard to explain it to us.

I get that Rin is here because she’s the only one Eiji can actually kill, but I have a more important question. Eiji ordered her never to leave his domain and she was just locked up in a cell in a different part of the building. Wasn’t she out of his domain at that point? Why would she use a close-range weapon and willingly walk back into his domain where his order to never harm him or his sister takes hold? Or is it more like Eiji’s domain follows Rin wherever she is?

I hate these flashes of chess pieces. They’re basically shoving it in our faces of “oh ho ho! look at this amazing strategy!”. Seriously, why can’t people be more subtle?

Well, this is helpful. Still, it does beg a question. Iyo activates her power when she shows up in front of Eiji, meaning she didn’t know she would get them out safely before she reached them. That sounds like a stupid thing to do especially since she could have carried the piece of paper she uses to read the warnings at any time.

Maybe if you were more successful, he might actually care.

Uhh…what? So much for my earlier theory…

Also, this conversation makes no sense. At the end of it, it sounded like Eiji promises not to touch the ribbon, but the way Iyo explains herself makes it sound like she’ll lose her powers if Eiji touches any part of her.

Bobble Rin!

Well, this doesn’t make sense. Eiji’s allowed to dominate bullets and guns without dominating the wielder, so why would this be any different? Does the Order actually create the Rock God out of nothing or is it just a bunch of rocks held together by the Order? If it’s the former, then that wish is very specific…

The chosen one! Seriously, what is going on?

*facepalm* Really? That was pretty anticlimactic.

…what? I’m so confused right now. Also, she’s useless now, right? She just has no powers?

Huh? Wha? I- wha?

…I’m so confused.

Some of you are going to tell me “but Marth, don’t be silly! Obviously, her ribbon symbolizes bunny ears and rabbits are the symbol of fertility, so clearly that would explain everything you just watched in the second half of the episode.” I’m very aware of all of this and I still have no idea what I just watched.

Big Order Episode 2: Minions, assemble!

Okay, so the main character has the ability to control others and wants to create a world of peace for his disabled sister (who we saw in a wheelchair near the end of the first episode)…I know what you guys are trying to do and I’m not falling for it!

Well, this could be a lot worse. He only ordered Rin to never leave his domain and never injure him or his sister. He could have forced her to follow all of his orders and made her even more like Yuno.

Never mind, I spoke too soon…

Also, I’m not going to poke at the fact that Rin still wants to kill Eiji. Given that Eiji only ordered Rin to “never harm him”, she can still cause his death indirectly. For example, if she were to push Eiji in front of a moving train, that wouldn’t be harming him, but it would cause his death. You know…not to put words in this author’s book >.>

Ugh…this song hurts…

I like time manipulation as an ability as much as the next guy, but who gets this specific about how he wants to protect someone?

Sure, this seems like a perfect time to inject some comedy.

Do we really need to be reminded that the ability is called “Rebirth Fire” every time? Also, it’s lucky Eiji’s domain expands infinitely upwards and downwards…if it were a sphere, Rin probably would have dropped out of his range by now. It does beg the question, though. What happens if something blows Rin backward? Would she hit a wall at the edge of Eiji’s range?

Why isn’t she forcing him to walk out in front? Also, these scenes make it hard for me to tell. Is she just really clumsy or is Eiji’s power really saving him in all of these situations?

Well, they’re not blood relatives. Uhh…no comment…

Well, that explains all of the grim imagery surrounding Sena in the opening animation. I think there was even a scene that shows her clutching her heart, which glows bright red.

Based on the wording of the line, it sounds like the first “Binding Dominator” is said in Japanese and the second “Bind Dominator” is said in English (the denote the actual name of the power). That being said, this line still looks ridiculous.

Quick! Take cover behind these metal railings! They’ll surely block all of the bullets!

Given that Eiji’s explaining his plan so confidently, it’s definitely going to fail. Heck, if I were Fran, I would just sidestep the grenades knowing that Eiji wouldn’t let his sister explode.

Another thing…isn’t Sena clearly time-stopped in the background? That means that Fran can only stop two of the grenades. Meaning if the plan works, one of the grenades still goes off and kills Sena.

Uhh…no. Fran should just stop running here. If he gets too close to the grenades, then Eiji can just move close enough to dominate both Fran and the grenades. So it’s better to wait until Eiji walks into range of the grenades and see whether he dominates the grenades. And if Eiji dominates Fran, can’t he just force Fran to stop the grenades himself? I have no idea why this is being called a game of chicken.

Does Eiji’s domination count as an “aggressive action”? His range was enough to get Rin from across the tower at the end of the first episode, so why can’t he just expand his domain to get everyone in this room?

“We pretended to try to kill you, but we were just testing you” cliche.

Another thing I’ve been wondering up to now. If Rin is immortal and can apparently heal other things than herself, why can’t she restore Sena? You’re going to say “maybe she can only bring back things that are dead”, but then I’m going to say “you could just kill Sena and bring her back healthy”. Then you’re going to say “well, Sena’s condition was there from birth, so she’ll be brought back with the same disease”, but I’m going to say “so what? She can be revived perpetually.”

Join us, and together we can rule the world! (but he’s totally not evil)

Is there a special meaning to where these people get stabbed? Most people get stabbed in the chest, but one guy gets stabbed in the head and Iyo randomly gets stabbed…somewhere else. Iyo is female, right? Is this supposed to suggest something?

Ugh…this ending song isn’t great either.

Anyway, time to take over the world, right?

Big Order First Impressions (1): Destroy the world

I’ve been meaning to read the manga for this series, so I guess this saves me a little trouble…right? Despite being interested in the manga, I really have no idea what happens in this series, so let’s see how this goes.

Admittedly, this is not how I pictured this series starting…

How many times do they say the word “wish” in the first two minutes? Is this supposed to feel dramatic? Because it’s not working for me.

Why were the burned picture and the burned doll on the nightstand next to her hospital bed? She looks perfectly fine for someone who was likely injured as a result of whatever damaged those objects. Are her legs burned under the blanket? Is she paralyzed? This is likely going to be a tragic reveal later.

I’m not going to read all this…

So based on what I’m getting so far, an “Order” is someone who has had their wish granted by the girl from the beginning of the episode. As a result, they probably gain some sort of supernatural power. What I don’t get is why this guy’s wish of world destruction was the first one that was ever granted. Are there conditions for being offered the wish? Also, if he wished for world destruction, the world should be…you know, destroyed. While it’s true that things look bad, the world itself looks pretty okay as a whole. Stupid genies and their awkward wish interpretations…

I sure hope they have a good reason for naming them “Orders”…because I’m starting to think the only reason they were named that was so that the author could make this “NO ORDER” sign. Was it worth it?

I think the worst part of this setup is that we learn that Daisy granted the random wish of a kid who probably didn’t even know what “world destruction” meant. Seriously, who designs a system like this?

Well, the fact that “world destruction” wasn’t Eiji’s true wish certainly explains why the world isn’t destroyed. But Daisy decides to tease him and us, the audience, with the true power so we have to sit around and wait until the end of the episode when Eiji will likely figure it out himself.

At least try to make up a believable lie, buddy…

Given that he said that he was mimicking Evil Ranger when he made the wish and this commercial makes no sense otherwise, I’m guessing his real wish has something to do with this.

I feel like I should be pissed off that even in a post-apocalyptic world, the only way these people know how to introduce a character is by making her a transfer student in a school. Also, that sound effect at her entrance sounded pretty ominous…

…and now I understand why everyone compares this to Mirai Nikki.

Oops. That was easy! (I know that she’s probably not dead…they wouldn’t go through the effort of introducing her as a transfer student unless she was an important character)

I think the fact that she’s dead in your apartment gives that away too, buddy…

Either these guys are the other main characters or the main organization that will oppose the main character. My guess is the latter, but we’ll see.

This line makes absolutely no sense. You wouldn’t say it unless you knew somehow that he would survive the gun barrage, but you expect to be able to “finish him”, which means you think the gun barrage had an effect. If you think the gun barrage worked, why wouldn’t you expect him to be completely dead by this point?

Seriously? Daisy decided to make his range a cylinder and not a sphere like a normal person? This means he could theoretically control any random satellite that passes overhead too, right?

I’ll just leave this here without context since they purposely faded to black: “It’s going inside her!”

Anyway, something feels off about this series. It’s intended to follow a boy who tries to become the embodiment of a clear anti-hero character, but fails miserably at being an anti-hero character. I just don’t like the way he spoke during that final scene…it doesn’t fit what he’s supposedly trying to do.
