Everyone’s friends and it’s all resolved. Yay…every ending this season is just so heartwarming, right? Well, I can’t say I didn’t expect this. The last episode was probably as crazy and random as the first. I’m sure there are a lot of references in these episodes that I’m missing, but I don’t think my opinion would change if I knew.
With this show…stuff just doesn’t seem to fall together. Everything seems out-of-place, which I assume was the point. I dunno…it’s a show I might recommend to certain people, but it doesn’t really fit my own tastes. To be fair, it wasn’t that it bored me…just left a bad taste, you know?
I don’t even know what this show is about anymore…I’m just gonna sit back and take screenshots. You know…we’ve learned a lot about Kagami, but what do we really know about Tsurugi and Tama…they’ve basically had no focus this entire time. Just saying…
Not sure what to make of the ending either. Is it even still about Edogawa? She seemed basically ignored this week…and her last scene wasn’t clear on whether she would still even go through with her plan. Plus, the last scene of the episode…no idea how to interpret that…it was so random. No clue what to expect out of the last episode.
Excuse me…still a few facepalms that I need to take care of…there, all better now. Now I just need to scrub my memory of a few things. Back to the show. So first off, we have confirmation that Sasami doesn’t have the power of Amaterasu…it’s currently within the revived Juju. She also seems to be able to cast some spells…something she never really displayed before.
Anyway, it looks more and more like Edogawa is bent on becoming an ally. Despite her “I’m going to kill you” comment, she’s softening up a lot. Still, she has to have a reason for that comment…I assume it’s something silly, but we’ll see. It’s not like she can reach the real Sasami quite yet anyway.
Well, that was fast. Turns out to be lingering from her mother after all. Don’t quite understand the ending of the episode, though. What did Sasami’s mother coming out of her body mean? Did it mean she manifested in the physical world or has she just gone back to the netherworld content?
And what’s up with this suspicious Edogawa Jou character? Final boss for this series or an extra ally for the final encounter? She mentions that Sasami doesn’t have the power of the supreme god anymore, but Tsurugi said she’d leave things to her for a little longer…does not compute. Does she have the power or not? Or does she have some remnants of the power, based on what Jou was saying?
And suddenly Tsurugi is back…that was fast. Wasn’t expecting her to just randomly show up in the middle of the episode like that. So what exactly is going on? Is this scene a memory or not? It makes sense that it actually happened…showing Sasami’s mother actually cared. Also, the kitsune offers to let her change the future. But Sasami rejected it for some reason.
Also, we have this “evil society” of gods opposing Sasami. Seems kinda late in the show to be introducing a group of antagonists…they can’t fight more than one or two of these people, right? So is that supposed to suggest more seasons or is this society just a bunch of lightweights?
So…Tama and faceless brother actually saved her? Really? Why did I suspect that Tama had some absurd powers she was hiding? Why couldn’t she have done any of this in the original fight? Simple matter of making the sword teleport after all. Faceless brother is still useless, but Sasami’s mother did suggest there’s something more to him by calling him brother as well.
Back to business as usual from here, I suppose. Tsurugi won’t be around…doesn’t look like she’ll need their help or anything, so I doubt there will be any trips to the underworld soon. She didn’t really do all that much anyway. So…what happens now?
Whoa…the situation got real serious real fast. Man…gods are pretty weak. Though to be fair, Tsurugi did give her power to Sasami. I always thought it was an interesting concept to have a human check the power of a god…suggested an equality of sorts. I expected something of this nature to happen, but I didn’t think one person would overpower everyone.
We’re halfway through the show…this isn’t a long final arc already, is it? Seems way too soon. Unless the last few episodes are random filler again…I guess that could be it. Anyway, how are they going to get themselves out of this situation? Tsurugi is trapped in the underworld and Kagami is injured. The only ones left are Tama and the faceless brother…what can they really do?
So I guess that was Kagami’s turn? Pretty standard story for a robot…wanting to be human. Now Sasami has a friend. I didn’t notice until now that Kagami would be the only one she could befriend…with Tsurugi being a teacher and Tama being an elementary school student (which is still creepy, by the way).
It looks like random adventures with gods is the name of the game for this show. Supernatural slice-of-life might be the term for it. There’s a possibility of a story popping up in the final episodes, but that’s what it looks like for the most part. Next week’s episode title…something to do with parents? Whose parents, though?
Alright…so random trolling by the Yagami sisters and then the third arm is removed. Wasn’t expecting it to be the source of Amaterasu’s powers, but uh…okay. So that happened. Just some loose ends to tie up after the events of the first three episodes? And there I was wondering if the shrine and Sasami’s father would be recurring opponents. Doesn’t make sense if Sasami’s power is no longer hosted in the third arm, right?
Bah…did I get any clues about how this show is going to continue? I guess it looks like it will just be random stuff with Sasami and the Yagami sisters. That’s all I got. I dunno…what else could it be? I can’t place a rhyme or reason to any of this.
Wait…what? Isn’t this normally supposed to be a last episode? Sasami gets freed and life goes on as normal? But…it’s only episode 3…I don’t know what’s going on anymore. I mean don’t get me wrong…explosions and such are always nice. But I figured this would be one of the climactic scenes…not an introduction. What am I supposed to speculate about now?
So does the rest of the show just devolve into a normal slice-of-life with Sasami and the Yagami sisters doing crazy god things? How are they expecting to keep that interesting? I suppose it wouldn’t be all that different…just hoping it doesn’t get super boring, I guess. Well, I didn’t exactly see this coming before, so maybe I’ll continue to be surprised.
