Hataraku Maou-sama Final Episode: Ashiya’s Betrayal

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 13 [A79F8ED2].mkv_snapshot_04.11_[2013.07.02_06.06.23]

Well, as expected nothing really happens in this episode. A random thing with Urushihara…Emi finds out about the transmitter in her phone. Nothing much. Apparently Sariel is still around too. Pretty boring for a last episode, but everything was basically resolved in the last episode, so what are you gonna do?

Anyway, there wasn’t any resolution, so I’m assuming that’s supposed to be a setup for some sort of second season. I don’t know if I’d care to watch it, but more than likely that’s what is going to end up happening.

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 12: Well that was easy

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 12 [36E28004].mkv_snapshot_20.04_[2013.06.25_12.36.23]

Just like the first fight, that was over pretty quick. Once again, Maou just trashes through everyone in an instant. Oh and Suzuno defects…no one saw that coming. Sariel brought up an interesting point in all of his crazy rantings and pathetic whimpering…Chiho probably has become some sort of special case. There’s gotta be something wrong with her now! We must study her for science!

Anyway, next episode is the last one, right? Just gotta get some epilogue as well as settling everyone in with their new roles. Suzuno might finally get a job…or become a housewife with Ashiya (who was so useful as always this week). Sigh…best battles in an anime ever…

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 11: Worst angel outfit ever

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 11 [A4A62A7F].mkv_snapshot_21.35_[2013.06.18_11.56.28]

Looks like the final battle is starting. I guess it’s pretty clear now that Suzuno will turn on her ally in this engagement. Looks like Olba is also gonna be there to join in the fun. Aren’t corrupt churches so great? Why do we even have those things anyway?

Let’s see…Chiho’s useless, Ashiya is incapacitated, and Emi can’t use her sacred powers effectively. Looks like another engagement where Maou does everything…he’s on his way to carry the team again. One could say he’s about to sweep them under the rug…

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 10: Crocodiles and pools

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 10 [551451A3].mkv_snapshot_07.08_[2013.06.11_10.19.18]

Girls get their day out…and Suzuno now doubts. She finally got the chance to see Maou doing his good deeds and whatnot, so now she’ll be conflicted when the time comes to complete her mission. And as expected, suspicious Sentucky guy is our mystery assailant. He seems to be an angel…which would explain how he could nullify Emi’s powers.

Next week, the big plan is unveiled? Maybe the Sentucky food was secretly poisoned, explaining Ashiya’s condition? Nah…but seriously, when is Ashiya gonna stop being so pathetic? Oh well…the great battle will start next week at the festival, it seems.

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 9: I still think Ashiya is useless

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 09 [4A72931F].mkv_snapshot_17.57_[2013.06.04_11.29.49]

Holy crap, Ashiya…were you making this story up in your free time or did you just freestyle that? Because if the latter is true, then I’m impressed. Anyway, the food wars continue. Somehow MgRonalds got the advantage back with the bamboo tree, but there was that purple glow to consider. Seemed like some magic was cast and Suzuno noticed.

The Sentucky dude is still suspicious to me, but would he cast the spell on the bamboo tree? That doesn’t seem to make much sense. Either way, are Emi and Maou gonna spend some quality time together next week? I’d laugh if they went on a date. Looks like Suzuno will be around too, I guess.

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 8: Food war?

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 08 [05459972].mkv_snapshot_13.25_[2013.05.28_13.51.22]

So the truth finally comes out…ish. Now Emilia realizes the mistake she made in that first encounter with Suzuno. Now that that’s all cleared up…back to killing Mao. Also back to Chiho confessing. Kind of a random timing if you ask me, but what do I know?

Are we supposed to conclude that the manager of the Sentucky Fried Chicken is actually the one that attacked Emilia? Timing sure seems to sync up nicely and he seems to be a suspicious enough character. But I always get so suspicious when it becomes too obvious…I’m sure it’ll be cleared up next week, right?

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 7: Sacred Dagger

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 07 [1CABAB28].mkv_snapshot_18.17_[2013.05.21_13.55.31]

The enemy is here, but has been repelled with the amazing power of…Holy Vitamin Beta (sounds like the prototype of a very bad video game). First instinct says that the culprit must be the new girl, but this makes no sense…why would she attack Emilia right after she offered to help her? So that means more people are trickling into Japan from Ente Isla?

Hey…what am I supposed to get from this preview? All I can tell you is that it has something to do with watermelons and James from Team Rocket. Does that mean…firecrackers at the beach? Come on…give me something here.

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 6: What would we do without copyrights?

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 06 [694CA9F4].mkv_snapshot_17.26_[2013.05.14_12.51.28]

What? More new characters? How many people are they going to try to cram in that tiny apartment? Lucifer’s bad enough…they should make that guy stay with Emilia or something. They’d get along great, right? They don’t really need both Lucifer and Ashiya to do research, right?

Anyway, based on the opening theme, that new character is the cloaked girl from Ente Isla and the one that was watching them at the school. So she must have followed them back, but what’s her purpose? From the preview, she doesn’t look to have any malicious intent yet…but there was talk of killing the characters in Ente Isla, so what is she here for? Also, anyone musically inclined is crying right now:

Psst...a little to the right
Psst…a little to the right

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 5: And we’re back to normal

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 05 [E1E89217].mkv_snapshot_10.35_[2013.05.07_13.07.06]

Well, that’s no fun…the fight against Lucifer was just a straightforward affair. The reinforcements didn’t even do anything…Maou just beat the crap out of him. Probably the silliest battle I’ve ever seen. Everyone gets the powers back for a little bit to show off or something…

Now everyone can go back to doing what they were doing. As far as I can tell, the show could very easily have just ended with this episode. Now, we have random episodes until they try doing something similar to this battle later on, and that’ll pretty much wrap up the series.

Hataraku Maou-sama Episode 4

[Commie] Hataraku Maou-sama! - 04 [833070E3].mkv_snapshot_10.46_[2013.04.30_12.50.43]

The stage seems set to me. They pointed out in Emilia’s flashback that Lucifer was the one to destroy the village, presumably on Maou’s  orders. But now that Lucifer has appeared, he will likely reveal something that allows Emilia to start on the path to forgiving Maou. Isn’t that nice?

The question, though, is how does Chiho factor into all of this? Lucifer makes it seem like she’s some sort of catalyst…but what makes her special? It can’t just be her interaction with Maou…because then what about Rika? Anyway, next week, time to fight? It also looked like some reinforcements were on the way for Emilia.
