Classroom Crisis First Impressions (1): The slice of life begins

So I was willing to give this series a shot mostly due to lack of other options. The series follows a class of pilots in space…I thought the space part would be interesting to watch, but this first episode didn’t really inspire too much. Effectively, the entire episode is devoted into pooling resources to save a transfer student…who ends up not really needing the rescue. Given that the spaceship was destroyed in the operation, the guy didn’t even need an exit strategy. Perhaps it could be said that the episode went a bit over the top for me.

I know I have a pretty strong bias against the slice of life genre (somewhat justified in my mind), but I honestly didn’t find this series too interesting. I’m putting this one pretty low on the list for now…let me know if things change, I guess.

  1. Having a bias is never justified, my friend.

    But I agree with you in that the first episode was way too over the top for its own good. Like it didn’t know what kind of mood it wanted to go for. Let’s see where it goes from here.

    1. Given how many people I know who only watch slice of life, I still think my bias is justified and a good balancing factor.

      I think for me, it depends on what else is available in the season.
