Fall 2019 Previews

I feel like this post is early, but I have nothing better to do with my time. A new season is upon us, so let’s get into the details. As usual, the summary is at the bottom.

Ahiru no Sora to Choujin Koukousei-tachi
  • Ahiru no Sora – We start things off with a toss-up. I often have trouble getting into sports shows, so I don’t have any idea what type of show this is. I think basketball is an interesting sport, though, so that might count for something.
  • Hataage! Kemono Michi – So, isekai show with a professional wrestler? At first glance, I don’t find this particularly appealing, but the synopsis certainly makes the series sound like a silly one. I might check it out to see if the comedy works.
  • Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru – As far as silly isekai premises go, this seems more my speed. I’m not sure how well an obsessive guy can carry a series, but it might be worth checking out.
  • Honzuki no Gekokujou – Finally, we have something familiar. I read the manga for this series, and I think it’s great. It doesn’t really have a solid plot to move forward, unless you count the main character’s quest to read books, but I think it still delivers some strong emotional scenes.
  • Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo – Can I skip this?
  • Houkago Saikoro – I mean, I enjoy playing board games, so I think this could be an interesting concept. It looks like a pretty simple “cute girls playing board games” show, so I’m not sure what else to make of it.
  • Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikiniku you desu – I guess it’s not hard to guess what kind of show this is from its title. To be fair, I’ve read the manga for this series, and I didn’t mind it. It takes the standard isekai premise and shifts it slightly by sending a larger cast to the new world and making them overpowered before they arrive.
Azur Lane to Fate/Grand Order
  • Azur Lane – It looks like this is the start of the mobage block. Somehow, we managed to get three of the big mobile games in the same season, which is crazy. To be honest, I never made it through the Kantai Collection adaptation, so I’m not sure how well I’ll fair with this one. I wonder if this will just get me talking about the game itself, rather than its story.
  • Chuubyou Gekihatsu Boy – Wait, is this a reverse harem filled with chuunibyou characters? Phew, that’s a hard sell.
  • Granblue Fantasy the Animation Season 2 – Well, the first season of this series got me curious enough to try the game, and it’s basically the main mobile game I play these days. I don’t know if that does anything to sell the series, but it certainly confirms that I’ll be watching it. Just the fact that Ferry, Vira, and Orchid are on the cover art is already a good sign.
  • Mairimashita Iruma-kun – Why does this story sound so familiar? I guess the tone seems a lot more like slapstick comedy, but the idea seems familiar.
  • Val x Love – This looks like a pass. This premise almost reminds me of Trinity Seven.
  • Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia – At some point, I need to get around to watching the episode that was already released. That aside, Babylonia is one of the final chapters in the game’s story, so I wonder what prompted the skip. I should probably have paid more attention while I was playing.
Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai to Phantasy Star Online 2
  • Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai – I still think this series is fun, so I’ll probably be watching the second season.
  • Kono Oto Tomare S2 – Once again, I enjoyed the first season, so I look forward to seeing what happens in the second season. If I remember correctly, the first season had a weird stopping point, so I might have to go back and refresh my memory.
  • Keishichou Tokumu-bu Tokushu Kyouaku-han Taisaku-Shitsu Dai-Nana-la -Tokunana- – Is this really not a light novel adaptation? I feel like I’ve watched many similar cop show concepts, but I guess this show is trying to make it different with dragons.
  • Fairy Gone S2 – Do I have to?
  • Babylon – I can only suspect that this will be confusing in a season that includes a Fate series with a similar name. The premise for this series sounds like it could be interesting, though. It reminds me a bit of ACCA, which was fun.
  • Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle – Well, I often find myself watching video game adaptations, and this one is a game I was considering playing.
Stand My Heroes to No Guns Life
  • Stand My Heroes: Piece of Truth – I’m really not sure what I’m supposed to make of this premise, but it sounds to me like I’m going to be watching the main character ingest narcotics often. Why else would her resistance to the effects be relevant?
  • Watashi, Nyouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne – I’ve been meaning to read the light novel for this series, so maybe I should take the anime as advertisement.
  • Beastars – I’ve never been into anthropomorphic characters, but this synopsis seems promising. I might consider it.
  • Assassin’s Pride – Hmm, pure fantasy show about an assassin. I like this idea already.
  • No Guns Life – I don’t mind the idea behind this series, but the fact that the main character has a gun for a head seems like too much of a gimmick. I’ll check it out, but yeesh.
Hoshiai no Sora to Psycho-Pass 3
  • Shokugeki no Souma: Shin no Sara – I’m sure we know what to expect at this point.
  • Kabukichou Sherlock – This is probably the worst synopsis in this chart (out of the shows that actually have a synopsis). If it’s a procedural mystery with some light comedy, I might be into that, but who knows?
  • Boku no Hero Academia S4 – Sure, why not?
  • Sword Art Online Alicization – War of Underworld – Uhh, I didn’t actually finish the first season, so I can’t really comment.
  • Rifle is Beautiful – Man, I can’t imagine why this club was disbanded.
  • Chihayafuru S3 – Phew, when was the last time this series aired? I’ve been keeping up with the manga in the meantime, so I’m looking forward to this. I sure hope I haven’t forgotten too much.
  • Pet – My first thought with this premise is that it sounds vaguely similar to Inception, especially with the whole idea of learning how to protect your subconscious. It’s an interesting idea, so I’d be willing to give it a shot.
  • Psycho-Pass 3 – Season 2 really didn’t inspire a lot of confidence.

Summary

General thoughts – This season seems to have a strange mix to it. The mobage mix is definitely throwing me for a loop, especially since I play all of these games for once. Maybe I’ll have to draft some posts comparing the games themselves to see if I can get some friends in-game. When you set those aside, a surprising number of shows in this season are sequels, many of which for older shows. It makes me wonder just how much I’ll have to talk about overall, but we’ll have to see. What are you excited about?

Potentially covering – Honzuki no Gekokujou, Babylon, Assassin’s Pride

Definitely watching – Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikiniku you desu, Azur Lane, Granblue Fantasy S2, Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai, Kono Oto Tomare, Stand My Heroes, No Guns Life, Kabukichou Sherlock, Chihayafuru S3

Maybe watching – Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru, Houkago Saikoro, Fate/Grand Order Babylonia, Phantasy Star Online 2

The season’s roughly wrapping up, so I figured I’d go ahead and write this. It’s about that time. As always, the summary’s at the bottom.

Dungeon ni Deai to Toaru Kagaku
  • Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka II – I barely remember the first season for this series, so I’m on the fence for the second season. I don’t remember having the best impression of the first season. Either way, I doubt I’d write anything about it.
  • Dr. Stone – I tried reading the manga for this series a while back, and I didn’t get too far with it. I got the impression that the series tries to oversell its “science” angle, which didn’t appeal to me much. And despite being a post-apocalyptic setting, I feel like the characters are too ridiculous for me to take seriously. Who knows? Maybe manga just wasn’t the proper medium for me to experience this story.
  • Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou – I’ve read a decent amount of the manga for this series, and it’s not a bad concept. It perhaps gets closer to “edgy” than it should, but I liked the idea of the protagonist literally crawling his way back up after being cast out as useless.
  • Vinland Saga – I might pick this series up as my historical fiction series of the season. I’ve seen the manga everywhere in bookstores, but I’ve never taken the plunge and read it.
  • Enen no Shouboutai – To be honest, I don’t particularly find the firefighting aspect of this series to be too appealing. It seems to have a fairly standard setup for its genre, so I’m a bit hesitant. Maybe I’ll end up picking between it and Dr. Stone.
  • Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator – To be fair, I preferred Railgun over Index, so I might end up giving this series a shot since it’s in the same setting.
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2 to Kawaikereba Hentai demo Suki
  • Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2 – I’m surprised this series got a second season, but I think I’ve made my thoughts on the first season pretty clear. It’s based on a manga that I eventually got tired of reading, so I don’t know if I’ll follow along on the anime side.
  • Lord El-Melloi II-sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note – I never got around to watching the OVA episode that came out for this, but I’m sure I’ll have time before the series airs. Assuming this is actually a full series rather than a single episode, I’d be down to watch it. A mystery revolving around Waver Velvet seems fun.
  • Isekai Cheat Magician – Once again, I’ve read the manga for this series (I’m really painting my manga tastes into a corner, aren’t I?). It’s kind of an interesting take where the main characters are each imbued with extreme ability in very different aspects of the magic in the world.
  • Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru – Ahem…seems wholesome.
  • Tsuujou Kougeki ga Zentai Kougeki de Ni-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki desu ka? – I suppose this series gets the long title award of the season (though, it’s a close race). It’s kind of a funny concept, having to deal with your own mother within a game.
  • Kawaikereba Hentai demo Suki ni Natte Kuremasu ka? – This feels like a familiar concept for some reason. Anyway, it seems pretty goofy, so I might just have to judge from watching the first episode. I got nothing.
Maou-sama Retry to Symphogear XV
  • Maou-sama, Retry! – It’s another familiar concept, but it looks like it might be worth a shot. Wow, there really is a lot of fantasy settings in this season.
  • Kanata no Astra – I have a bad feeling about this. Honestly, I like the idea of watching a class attempt to survive in space with limited resources, so I’m very likely going to watch the series. However, this visual style brings back memories of Girly Air Force for some reason, and that didn’t go great.
  • Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo – Sure, why not? It seems wacky enough.
  • Naka no Hito Genome [Jikkyouchuu] – I’m really not looking forward to watching another death game given how much I’ve been burned in the past. I might be receptive to being convinced to try this one, but I’m not currently planning on it.
  • Uchi no Ko no Tame Naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru Kamo Shirenai – I’m going to gush a lot about this series because I really enjoyed the light novel. It’s pretty much a fluff series set in a fantasy world, but I found the world and characters to be particularly compelling. It’s a series tries to ground itself in some very real issues, so it’s perhaps not as bright as it might seem at times.
  • Senki Zesshou Symphogear XV – I’m only leaving this in here to note that I didn’t expect this series to go on as long as it has. I haven’t seen recent seasons, so I’m probably not watching this one.
BEM to Granbelm
  • BEM – From the premise alone, I’m not sure where the horror tag is coming from. It sounds like an interesting concept alone, but that tag makes me think it’s just going to be grotesque display of discrimination. Perhaps the main characters are involved in some gruesome murders or something. It’s hard to say.
  • Given – I typically enjoy slice of life series that revolve around music. What could go wrong?
  • Cop Craft – I don’t generally mind buddy cop anime, so I’ll probably try this series out. I would be lying if I said that the sci-fi aspect of it wasn’t appealing as well.
  • Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-tachi e – I’m having a hard time with this concept after being burned by Fairy Gone, which seems very similar. I’ll consider checking it out, I suppose.
  • Granbelm – It feels like it’s been a while since I watched a mecha series. What could go wrong?
Joshikousei no Mudazukai to Re:Stage
  • Joshikousei no Mudazukai – I don’t have much to comment based on this premise alone. It looks like it could be a fun concept for a comedy series.
  • Machikado Mazoku – It’s a simplistic setup, but I’m guessing this is meant to be a gag anime. It might be worth checking out for something lighthearted in this season.
  • Kochoki: Wakaki Nobunaga – I’ll probably hold out and see how this series pans out. The whole “bold interpretation” bit is really sticking with me, and I’m suspicious.
  • Try Knights – This feels like a hard pass for me. I’m not particularly interested in rugby as a sport.

Summary

General thoughts – This season feels a lot more fantasy-heavy than some previous ones. It’s a genre I like, so it’s not like I have problem with that. As an overall approach, I’m probably going to try to watch fewer shows overall, but we’ll see how that goes. I feel like I say that every season.

Potentially covering – Lord El-Melloi II-sei no Jikenbo, Vinland Saga

Definitely watching – Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou, Isekai Cheat Magician, Tsuujou Kougeki ga Zenai Kougeki, Kanata no Astra, Uchi no Ko no Tame Nareba, Given

Maybe watching – Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator, Maou-sama Retry, Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo, BEM, Cop Craft, Granbelm, Joshikousei no Mudazukai, Machikado Mazoku

I’ve still got a few shows left to finish in this season, but it’s about that time. Let’s take a look at some upcoming shows. As always, summary is at the bottom.

Diamond no Ace to Hora, Mimi ga Mieteru yo
  • Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO – Give me a break with the VN adaptations, guys. A sci-fi angle and the promise of parallel worlds? I’m just so intrigued, even if VN adaptations tend to burn me.

Other than that, this section is mostly sequels to shows I haven’t watched, so there’s not much more to say.

Fruits Basket to Kiratto Pri-chan
  • Fruits Basket: 1st Season – From what I gather, this is a remake of a classic shoujo story. I’ve heard the name thrown around a lot, so I might check it out just to see what the fuss is about.
  • Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu – Admittedly, this is a series I was looking forward to seeing, having read the manga. The author is the same person who wrote Mitsuboshi Colors, so that might give you an idea of what to expect. It’s a cute series about making friends. I think one of the quirks of the series is that the characters are ironically named.
  • Kimetsu no Yaiba – Well, I suppose I always need at least one historical series to round out the list. I think the idea of having the main character travel with his transformed sister could be interesting, as long as it’s not too gruesome. I’m curious enough to check it out.
  • Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai – This is another series where I’ve read the manga and enjoyed it. It’s more of a typical romcom setting, with the quirk being that the heroines all wish to pursue professions that don’t match up with their talents. I think it’s an interesting concept, though, with the basic theme of following your dreams rather than just doing what you’re good at.
  • Kono Oto Tomare – I know nothing about this series, but I don’t mind watching music-related shows. From my brief research, I’ve seen some people draw parallels to Chihayafuru, which might be cool if that’s true.
Gunjou no Magmel to King of Prism
  • Gunjou no Magmel – There’s not too much to go on here, but the premise sounds like something that might appeal to me. I might try it out, but I don’t know how I feel about the “shounen superpower” combination.
  • Shoumetsu Toshi – I know I shouldn’t jump head-first into the video game adaptation, but it’s just so tempting. The mystery aspect seems like it could actually deliver in some way, and I like the idea of searching for a lost city.
  • Fairy Gone – This sounds pretty gritty for a P.A. Works series, so I guess I’m in. I do think the idea of modified soldiers integrating into a peaceful society sounds promising. It sounds a lot like Violet Evergarden, doesn’t it?
  • Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin – This series sounds fairly intriguing for a supernatural-focused setting. This idea of being able to understand non-human speech seems like a strange and mundane power, but I think I’d be willing to see what the series does with it.
  • RobiHachi – The setup seems hilariously convoluted, but I think I’m on board to watch some friendly space adventures.
Mahou no Lumitear to Cardfight Vanguard
  • One Punch Man S2 – I know I’m going to catch flak for this, but do I have to?
  • Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san – Yeah, I’m not sure about this one either. I guess it could be cute?
  • Kenja no Mago – Oh hey, there’s actually an isekai series in this season (that’s not a leftover from the previous season). Sure, why not?
  • Carole & Tuesday – This idea of a world where all media is computer-generated is fairly fascinating. I’m quite curious to see what kind of twist the series puts on that idea.
  • Sarazanmai – The whole “transform into kappa” angle seems a bit much, but I always like a good folk-style story. I might try it out.
  • Bungou Stray Dogs S3 – It’s been a while since the second season, but I’m actually looking forward to this season. I don’t think I was anticipating the second season quite as much, so we’ll see how it goes.
  • Shingeki no Kyojin S3 Part 2 – I’m still on the fence for this season. I was trying to phase it out in the last season, so I might do more of the same. The manga gets really weird, after all…
Short anime

Notable shorts

  • Senryuu Shoujo – This series is mostly cute fluff, and I have no problem with that.
  • Joshi Kausei – I’m actually quite curious to see how this series gets translated into an anime. As a manga, its main gimmick was a general lack of dialogue, but you can convey a lot more when you introduce sound into the picture. I wonder whether that will contribute or detract from the original charm.
  • Isekai Quartet – What could go wrong?

Summary

General thoughts – It seems like there’s a decent amount of sci-fi in this season, which seems cool. With the exception of a couple of manga adaptations, I feel like I’m largely blind on the non-sequel shows for the season. Time to see how wrong I can be, huh? Also, I’ll probably be continuing with Dororo from the winter season, since it’s been a fairly solid series so far.

Potentially covering – Kimetsu no Yaiba, Fairy Gone, Carole & Tuesday, Bungou Stray Dogs S3

Definitely watching – Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO, Fruits Basket: 1st Season, Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu, Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai, Shoumetsu Toshi, Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin, RobiHachi, Kenja no Mago

Maybe watching – Kono Oto Tomare, Gunjou no Magmel, Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san, Sarazanmai

Information and images pulled from LiveChart. Anichart’s image links were down, so I tried a new site. Honestly, I still prefer Anichart, but beggars can’t be choosers, right?

Winter 2019 Previews

Click here to check this post out on my personal website.

Well, all of the shows I was regularly covering in the fall season have been completed, so I guess it’s about time to do some previews. Let’s get to it. Summary is at the bottom if you don’t want to sift through all of the individual series.

3D Kanojo to Boogiepop wa Warawanai
  • 3D Kanojo 2 – Given my reception for the first season, I’m not feeling overly enthused about watching the second season. I already know how it ends, anyway.
  • 5-Toubun no Hanayome – I never got around to reading the manga for this series, so I don’t know too much about it. I just saw the first chapter, and I assumed it would be Nisekoi all over again. With the anime airing next season, I might give it a shot if I’m not already watching too much.
  • Bang Dream 2nd Season – I didn’t watch the first season, but I started playing the mobile game. I don’t anything about the series, but I guess I’d watch this if I ever got around to watching the first season.
  • Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastrale – I might try it to see how chill it is, but I’m not too crazy about how it sounds.
  • Boogiepop wa Warawanai – Hmm, the premise sounds like it could be interesting. I don’t usually go for horror, so it might depend on how gruesome the “Angel of Death” ends up being. It looks like this might be a remake of an older show (that I haven’t watched), which should be fine as long as it’s not a sequel of some sort.
Circlet Princess to Doukyonin wa Hiza
  • Circlet Princess – My old friend, the humble video game adaptation. I’m still not sure what kind of game Circlet Bout is, so I might check this show out to see how it goes.
  • Date A Live III – Well, I never finished the second season, so this is probably a pass.
  • Dimension High School – I kind of like the idea of a crossover between a real life show and an animated show. At least, I’m curious enough to check it out.
  • Domestic na Kanojo – I was reading the manga for this series for a while before I got tired of it. I guess it tries to be more mature than similar romance stories, but the drama is too heavy for my liking. This might be Fuuka all over again.
  • Dororo – This synopsis sounds pretty interesting. It seems like a cool fantasy concept in a historical setting. Depending on how the story goes, it could be cool.
  • Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue – Hmm, the premise behind this series sounds a bit flimsy to me. I don’t doubt that watching the antics of a cat can make a show fun, but using the cat as inspiration for mystery novels seems sketchy. As much as I like mystery novels, I’m skeptical.
Egao no Daika to Kaguya-sama
  • Egao no Daika – This synopsis really doesn’t sound great at face value. However, I do get hints of a dystopia in the making, so I might try it out to see.
  • Endro – Sounds like a standard fantasy setup. I watched Merc Storia, which sounded somewhat similar, so I can see myself watching this.
  • Girly Air Force – Oh hey, the anthropomorphic fighter jets are here. I’m a little afraid that this will end up being like Sora to Umi no Aida from this season, but it sounds different enough to try.
  • Grimms Notes the Animation – Well, I was interested in the mobile game, so I might as well try watching this. I’m sure this can only end well, right?
  • Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen – I’m really looking forward to watching this series, since I’ve been reading the manga for a while. For the most part, it’s just a zany string of misinterpreted statements and over-the-top mental gymnastics. It tends to be funny, so I’m curious to see how it will get adapted. That being said, there isn’t all too much to talk about, so I probably won’t post about it.
Kakegurui xx to Mannaka no Rikkun
  • Kakegurui xx – Well, I liked the first season. I’ll probably watch it, but I can’t make any promises since this will likely be another Netflix experience. I usually try to limit how many Netflix shows I take in a given season.
  • Kemurikusa – Not much to go on, but I like sci-fi, I guess. I’m not familiar with the animation it’s based on, but it sounds like it could be cool.
  • Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai – Honestly, I’m curious about this series. I like the concept of focusing around old school-ish airplanes.
  • Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka – Probably a pass, but I might go for it if I have time.
Meiji Tokyo Renka to Rinshi Ekoda-chan
  • Mob Psycho 100 II – Do I have to?
  • Pastel Memories – This seems like a weird concept, but I might give it a shot. It seems a bit overly convoluted, which does give me pause.
  • Piano no Mori 2 – I liked the first season and would like to see where it goes.
  • Revisions – I probably could use a mecha show for the next season. Let’s give it a go.
Star Twinkle Precure to Yakusoku no Neverland
  • Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari – I liked reading the manga for this series, so I’ll definitely be watching it. As fair warning, the show has a decent number of warm moments, but being Naofumi is largely suffering. I kind of like the concept of the rejected summoned hero in this isekai setup, which is why I read it, but it’s not going to be lighthearted.
  • Ueno-san wa Bukiyou – Sure, why not?
  • Virtual-san wa Miteiru – Oh, is the meme taking over?
  • W’z – Yeah, that doesn’t sound familiar at all. This premise seems a bit sketchy, but I might try it out to see what happens.
  • Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita – Might be good to pass the time.
  • Yakusoku no Neverland – I started reading the manga for this series, but I ended up dropping off. It has a nice post-apocalyptic setting and a grim atmosphere to it. I might end up watching the series to see if it goes better this time.

Summary

General thoughts – It seems like there’s a lot of continuations on this list. It’s nice to see that shows are getting continuations, but it does feel a bit restricting when I haven’t watched a lot of them before. Also, the list itself is a lot shorter than the previous season, so maybe I can just relax this season. I’m good with that.

Potentially covering – Dimension High School, Dororo, Kakegurui xx, Kemurikusa, Revisions

Definitely watching – Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai, Kouya no Kotobuki Hikoutai, Piano no Mori 2, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, Yakusoku no Neverland

Maybe watching – 5-Toubun no Hanayome, Bermuda Triangle, Boogiepop wa Warawanai, Circlet Princess, Doukyonin wa Hiza, Egao no Daika, Endro, Girly Air Force, Grimms Notes the Animation, Mob Psycho 100 II, Pastel Memories, Ueno-san wa Bukiyou, W’z, Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita

Summer 2018 Previews

Alright, it’s preview time. The new season is upon us, and I’ve decided to try something new. So instead of scrolling through a giant image with the upcoming shows, I’ve split the shows up into sections. As always, the summary is at the bottom if you want the quick version.

  • Aguu: Tensai Ningyou – This is kind of a weird premise, but I guess it could be okay. I’m at least a little curious to see where this “gift of genius talent” idea goes. I hope it’s not a simplistic case of
  • Angolmois: Genkou Kassenki – I’ve been liking historical shows more and more in recent seasons, what with Golden Kamuy and Shoukoku no Altair. Why not? Let’s give it a go.
  • Asobi Asobase – This show looks like it might be going for something like Nichijou, with the school girls going for crazy gags. It could be interesting, but I’m always wary with comedy. I might try it.
  • Back Street Girls – I’ve avoided the manga for this series for a while, but I’ve heard good things about it. I might give it a shot, but I’m not making any promises.
  • BANANA FISH – Uhh…no.
  • Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro – I’ve read the manga for this series and it’s pretty good for comedy. I don’t really get as excited as other manga fans seem to get, but I’ll probably watch to see how it gets adapted.

Honestly, I feel like skipping basically everything in this screenshot. I’ve covered FLCL Alternative in a previous season, and most of the others are sequels to shows I haven’t watched.
* Grand Blue – This series is another manga that I’ve seen around a lot but haven’t read. I might watch it for a chill show, but I’m not making any promises.

  • Hanebado – I like badminton, but do I have to?
  • Happy Sugar Life – Sure, why not? I actually haven’t read the manga for this series because I haven’t been in the mood for reading horror series recently. But anime plays by different rules, right? I’ve been curious for a while why this cute-looking show is supposed to be so horrific.
  • Harukana Receive – Really unlikely. Probably a pass.
  • Hataraku Saibou – Well, I took immunology in college, so I might be committed to checking this series out.
  • High Score Girl – I’ve read the manga for this series, and I’m not that excited for the adaptation. I think the series will play heavily on nostalgia for old games, and I just didn’t have that same nostalgia. Plus, the art style of the manga didn’t appeal to me, and I still find it really weird that the main heroine doesn’t speak. I’m ready to be judged as a lesser video game fan.
  • Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria – Sure, why not? A fantasy light novel adaptation sounds like something I’d watch.

  • Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu – I read the manga for this series and I will be watching the adaptation. I’m going to get so judged for this…
  • Island – Another season, another VN adaptation. Have mercy on me.
  • Jashin-chan Dropkick – I’ve never really been into monster girls, but I could give it a shot.
  • Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes – Am I getting baited by mystery tags again?
  • Lord of Vermillion: Guren no Ou – Another maybe. Supernatural powers are sometimes okay?

  • Muhyo to Rouji no Mahoritsu Soudan Jimusho – Consider me intrigued. Applying some form of law to the magical world? Sounds like my kind of show.
  • Overlord III – I thought the last season was fun, so why not?
  • Phantom in the Twilight – We’ll see. My instincts are telling me to flee from the reverse harem.
  • Planet With – I’m tempted to watch this series since it’s an original mecha series, but the style looks a bit childish. It’s on the edge, though, so I might end up trying it out.

  • Satsuriku no Tenshi – This premise looks like it could be interesting.
  • Shichisei no Subaru – Who am I kidding? I’m probably going to check this series out.
  • Shingeki no Kyojin S3 – Sigh…I’ve done the first two seasons. Am I committed at this point?

  • Sunoharasou no Kanrinin-san – Is this the fluff show of the season?
  • Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger – I’m not super excited about the vampires vs. werewolves premise, but I might try it out.
  • Tsukumogami Kashimasu – This series doesn’t look particularly exciting, but I can sometimes get behind folk story-ish type stories. Could be worth a shot.
  • Yume Oukoku to Nemureru 100 Nin no Ouji-sama – Meh, this show doesn’t look particularly interesting.
  • Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san – I read a bit of the manga for this series, but I couldn’t really get into it. I might check it out, but I’m not really sure.

Summary

General thoughts – This season looks like a decent mix at first glance. It’s pretty light on sci-fi, but it looks like there’s some mystery and psychological stuff in its place. Seems like fun?

Potentially covering – Island, Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes, Muhyo to Rouji no Mahoritsu Soudan Jimusho, Satsuriku no Tenshi, Shingeki no Kyojin S3

Definitely watching – Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria, Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu, Overlord III, Shichisei no Subaru

Maybe watching – Aguu: Tensai Ningyou, Angolmois: Genkou Kassenki, Happy Sugar Life, Hataraku Saibou, Jashin-chan Dropkick, Lord of Vermillion, Sunoharasou no Kanrinin-san, Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger, Tsukumogami Kashimasu

Spring 2018 Previews

Click here to check this post out on my personal website.

Since Beatless is once again in recap mode and most series are ending this week, I think it’s time to do a preview. Series are listed in alphabetical order to make them easier to find by title.

  • 3D Kanojo – I’ve read the manga for this series, but I don’t have anything particular to say about it. The series didn’t do anything crazy as a romance, but it wasn’t bad. I’m curious to see how it will be adapted, as the ending goes a bit crazy. I probably won’t write posts about every episode, though, as I know where it’s going.
  • Boku no Hero Academia S3 – I watched the last two seasons, so I’ll likely watch this season as well. I’m in it for the long haul, I suppose.
  • Butlers – Pass.
  • Caligula – The premise for this show seems interesting. It has the “sci-fi gone wrong” feel to it, which has me curious. It makes sense that the people in the virtual reality world would want to forget that they’re in a fake world if they’re trying to escape some sort of pain. I think it’s funny that the main characters are somehow managing to fail at escapism by trying to go back to the real world.
  • Comic Girls – Again, I’ve read the manga here and it’s pretty standard for a 4-koma. It’s not particularly special in my eyes, but I guess I’ll watch it.
  • Devil’s Line – I’m questioning the horror tag, but this show seems like the kind of supernatural premise that I would normally watch.
  • Dorei-ku The Animation – Uhh…what? Okay, sure. I’ll give this a chance. Moral dilemmas are fun, right?
  • FLCL Progressive – Do I have to?
  • Golden Kamuy – Baited by mystery tag? But honestly, the opening to the synopsis makes this series seem like it should be a historical show, so I’m a bit disappointed that it isn’t. Still, it seems interesting, especially if it truly isn’t planning to use a supernatural aspect to it.
  • Gundam Build Divers – Looks like fun.
  • Hinamatsuri – This premise reminds me a bit of Alice & Zouroku, but the comedy tag suggests that it will be less serious. I can see that working.
  • Hisone to Maso-tan – From the image alone, this show seems like it would be too childish, but I’m willing to try it out if it’s going for something more than that.
  • Juushinki Pandora – Well, this premise certainly sounds a lot like Dimension W, but I’m willing to give it a shot. It sounds interesting enough.
  • Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi – This series looks suspiciously like a reverse harem. Seems dangerous.
  • Mahou Shoujo Ore – I get the sense that this series will get a lot of hype, but I’m just not interested.
  • Mahou Shoujo Site – I tried to read the manga for this series, but couldn’t really get into it. I might watch it to see if my opinion changes.
  • Nil Admirari no Tenbin – Sure, why not? I need another candidate for romance show in this season.
  • Persona 5 The Animation – I’m still torn on whether I should be writing blog posts about this series. I enjoyed the game a lot, but I had some issues with the themes in it. It might be worth mentioning, but I know that I didn’t have much to say in the Persona 4 adaptation. I’m sure this adaptation won’t be much different.
  • Piano no Mori – I’ve actually got nothing on this series. I meant to read the manga, but never got to it. It sounds like a relaxing series that I might enjoy.
  • Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru – There are enough science terms in this synopsis to catch my attention.
  • Shiyan Pin Jiating – Sure, why not?
  • Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara – I’m committed at this point.
  • Steins;Gate 0 – I mean…I really don’t have a choice here. I kinda have to watch this one.
  • Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online – Do I really want to watch a side story? This series reminds me of the concept behind Soul Eater Not.
  • Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai – Another potential romance?
  • Tokyo Ghoul:re – Do I have to? I guess I should watch this series given the hype, but I’m not sure.
  • Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii – I read the manga for this series and I’m definitely hyped. I thought the series was pretty funny in manga form. It had a lot of fun gaming and anime references.

Summary

General thoughts – This season looks like it’s made for me with all of these sci-fi shows. Either I’m in for the time of my life or I’m in for some real disappointment. Hoping for the best.

Potentially covering – Boku no Hero Academia S3, Caligula, Devil’s Line, Dorei-ku The Animation, Golden Kamuy, Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru, Steins;Gate 0

Definitely watching – 3D Kanojo, Comic Girls, Gundam Build Divers, Persona 5 the Animation, Piano no Mori, Shokugeki no Souma, Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

Maybe watching – Hinamatsuri, Hisone to Maso-tan, Juushinki Pandora, Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi, Mahou Shoujo Site, Nil Admirari no Tenbin, Shiyan Pin Jiating, SAO Alternative, Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai, Tokyo Ghoul:re

Winter 2018 Previews

Click here to check this post out on my personal website.

I’m probably doing my evaluation of upcoming anime a bit early, but here it is. For those that don’t want to go through every show, there’s a summary at the bottom with my general thoughts and which shows I expect to watch. Be sure to let me know which shows you’re looking forward to watching.

Side note: I realized that it’s probably hard to follow this list in default order, so now the shows will be ordered by title.

  • Beatless – This series seems like a pretty standard setup for an AI story, with the main character probably falling in love with the AI girl. Still, I’m willing to give the series a shot.
  • citrus – Well, I read the manga, so I guess I have to watch.
  • Dame x Prince ANIME CARAVAN – This series looks like a pass.
  • Darling in the Franxx – I’m going to guess that this series will be the hyped series of the season. Mecha and sci-fi fit my typical interests, so I’ll likely watch it.
  • Death March Kara Hajimeru Isekai Kyousoukyoku – I haven’t read the light novel, but I’ve read the manga adaptation. I’m not sure it does anything particularly special as an isekai show, but it was entertaining enough to read. I doubt I’ll have much to say about it, so I might just watch it on the side.
  • Fate/EXTRA Last Encore – I’m not sure about this. I just went through all of Fate/Apocrypha- wait, Shaft? I’m down for seeing how Shaft adapts a Fate story.
  • Gakuen Babysitters – Seems like a standard fluff show.
  • Gin no Guardian S2 – Do I have to? I know I watched the first season, but it got so weird near the end.
  • Grancrest Senki – Worth a shot.
  • Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens – Hitman battles? Sounds interesting enough to check out.
  • Hakumei to Mikochi – This series seems like another fluff show. Sure, I’ll watch it.
  • Hakyuu Houshin Engi – Am I supposed to have watched the original? It seems like I don’t have to, but I’m still not sure I’m interested enough.
  • Ito Junji: Collection – Fine, I’ll try it (definitely has nothing to do with the mystery tag).
  • Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san – I’ve read the manga version and I’m honestly not too excited to watch this series. The premise isn’t that bad, but it’s starting to feel repetitive for me. I’ll probably still watch it, though.
  • Killing Bites – Can I not?
  • Koi wa Ameagari no You ni – This series doesn’t sound too exciting, but I’m willing to try.
  • Kokkuku – Based on this synopsis, I’m at least interested. This series could be fun.
  • Miira no Kaikata – Pass?
  • Mitsuboshi Colors – I’ve read a different manga by the same author, but I never could get into this series. I’m not sure about it yet.
  • Marchen Madchen – Uhh, can I use the excuse that I’d never be able to get the special characters right?
  • Nanatsu no Taizai S2 – Didn’t watch season 1, so pass.
  • Overlord S2 – Fine…
  • Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san – I read the manga for this series and it’s quite fun. I’ll be surprised if it isn’t a short series, though.
  • Ryuuou no Oshigoto – What could go wrong with a shogi series?
  • Saiki Kusuo S2 – Pass.
  • Sanrio Danshi – Pass again.
  • Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion – I’m not entirely sure about this series because it seems a bit childish to me.
  • Slow Start – The premise of this series doesn’t really excite me, but I might still watch it.
  • Toji no Miko – Another series I’m willing to check out.
  • Uchuu yori mo Tooi Basho – Looks like “cute girls doing cute things” in the South Pole.
  • Violet Evergarden – I’d be happy to watch this series, but I think it’s being sucked into the Netflix Black Hole.
  • Yuru Camp – Uhh…I like camping.

Summary

General thoughts – I was really pleased with the Fall 2017 season, so I’ll probably have overly high expectations for this series. So far, it seems largely unknown. There are some original shows that seem promising, so it might be an experiment for everyone. 3-gatsu no Lion and Mahou Tsukai no Yome will be carried over from Fall for me. I’ll probably keep them in a single post like I did in the last season to give myself more room to try stuff in Winter 2018.

(I feel like I should rethink these categories)

Probably covered – Darling in the Franxx, Ito Junji: Collection, Kokkuku

Very likely to watch and might be covered – Beatless, Fate/EXTRA Last Encore, Grancrest Senki, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, Marchen Madchen, Toji no Miko

Might be watched, but probably won’t be covered – Death March Kara Hajimeru Isekai Kyousoukyoku, Hakumei to Mikochi, Overlord S2, Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san, Ryuuou no Oshigoto, Yuru Camp

Fall 2017 Previews

It’s that time again. As always, the summary is at the bottom.

  • 3-gatsu no Lion 2 – I’m definitely looking forward to watching this series. I really enjoyed the first season, so I can’t wait to see more.
  • Anime-Gataris – Looks pretty standard…meh
  • Black Clover – I’ve heard a decent amount of raving for this show, but I really don’t know much about it. I’m willing to check it out and see where the hype is coming from, though.
  • Blend S – Looks like standard fluff…might watch it.
  • Boku no Kanojo ga Majime Sugiru Shojo Bitch na Ken – I gave the manga for this series an honest effort, but I couldn’t keep up with it.
  • Code:Realize-Sousei no Himegimi – The concept looks interesting enough, so I’m willing to watch a bit to see where it goes.
  • Dies irae – Hmm…do I want to subject myself to the whims of visual novel veterans like I did with Rewrite? Maybe…
  • Dynamic Chord – Pass.
  • Garo Vanishing Line – I don’t really know what to make of this show, but the concept reminds me a bit of the Da Vinci Code (or maybe Angels and Demons is more appropriate). Might be worth a shot.
  • Himouto! Umaru-chan R – Another maybe…
  • Houseki no Kuni – I never would have guessed “sci-fi” from that cover art, but what the heck? Sign me up.
  • Imouto sae Ireba Ii – Can I pass?
  • Inuyashiki – Well, I like this combination of genres, so I’m willing to try it out.
  • Itsudatte Bokura no Koi wa 10cm datta – Wait, Honeyworks sounds familiar? Is this related to that Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo movie? I don’t remember liking it that much, so I’ll probably ignore this one.
  • Just Because – More romance? Well, I’ll still check it out.
  • Juuni Taisen – Another maybe…
  • Kekkai Sensen & Beyond – My opinion of the first season wasn’t very positive, but maybe this will be like the second season of Bungou Stray Dogs. I can hope, right?
  • Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World – I haven’t been able to find a clear answer about whether this is a sequel or a remake. If it’s a remake, I might check it out because of what I’ve heard about the original. Yeah, go ahead and flood me with “watch the original”. I’m asking for it…
  • Konohana Kitan – Looks standard.
  • Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau – This looks very sketchy…
  • Love Live Sunshine S2 – Meh…
  • Mahoutsukai no Yome – Other than 3-gatsu, this might be my most anticipated series in the season. I really enjoyed the manga and the OVA, so I’m hoping this adaptation is also solid.
  • Net-juu no Susume – Do I have to?
  • Ousama Game – I feel like I’m obligated to watch the death game.
  • Sengoku Night Blood – Maybe again.
  • Shokugeki no Souma – This should be fun.
  • Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou – I quite enjoy post-apocalyptic settings, so I’m curious about this show.
  • Two Car – Wha?

Summary

General thoughts – I’ll likely only be carrying over Fate/Apocrypha from the previous season. There’s definitely a lot of stuff to check out in the fall season.

Notable short – Osake wa Fuufu ni Natte Kara – I read the manga and I quite enjoyed it. Looking forward to this one.

Probably covered – Mahoutsukai no Yome

Very likely to watch and might be covered – Black Clover, Code:Realize – Sousei no Himegimi, Dies irae, Garo -Vanishing Line-, Houseki no Kuni, Inuyashiki, Juuni Taisen, Kekkai Sensen & Beyond, Kino no Tabi, Ousama Game, Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou

Might be watched, but probably won’t be covered – 3-gatsu no Lion 2, Just Because, Konohana Kitan

Summer 2017 Previews

Click here to check this post out on my personal website.

Getting a little creative since my original source for the chart is dead. I cropped the movies and OVAs out of AniChart. As always, the summary is at the bottom.

  • 18if – Is this supposed to be a game adaptation? It seems a bit dangerous.
  • Action Heroine Cheer Fruits – I might watch this, but it’s going to depend on how much other stuff I watch. Nothing about it really stands out.
  • Ballroom e Youkoso – Sigh…there’s a lot of hype around this series, but I really don’t want to watch it.
  • Battle Girl High School – Wait, I don’t understand. Haven’t I watched this show before?
  • Centaur no Nayami – Sure, why not?
  • Clione no Akari – I’ve got nothing. Looks interesting enough from the premise, but I’m not sure.
  • Dive!! – Pass.
  • Fate/Apocrypha – Yeah, I guess I kinda have to watch this…
  • Gamers! – I like video games… (hopefully this isn’t too cringe)
  • Hajimete no Gal – Look, don’t judge me. I read the manga, okay?
  • Hina Logi – I’m glad I didn’t watch Luck & Logic. I can skip this!
  • Hitorijime My Hero – Side story of something I don’t know. Skipping it.
  • Isekai Shokudou – Nothing’s ever gone wrong in an isekai story, has it? I’m definitely not being baited by the mystery tag.
  • Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. – I only have to choose one isekai story, right?
  • Jigoku Shoujo Yoi no Togi – While I liked Jigoku Shoujo, I haven’t watched all of them. What does the description mean when it says six “reminiscence episodes”? Is that just a fancy name for recap?
  • Jikan no Shihaisha – Eh, why not? It can’t be worse than Taboo Tattoo, can it?
  • Kakegurui – This might actually be interesting. I generally like psychological stuff. Hopefully it doesn’t fall into the abyss of Netflix series.
  • Katsugeki Touken Ranbu – Pass.
  • Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun – I’m just a bit curious about this one.
  • Knights & Magic – That apostrophe is going to be a problem. Still, it’s a mecha show, so I’m successfully baited.
  • Koi to Uso – I’m not sure if I’ll cover this one. I read the manga, but I stopped after a while. That doesn’t bode well.
  • Konbini Kareshi – Seems like standard fluff.
  • Made in Abyss – This seems like a good combination of genres. I’ve heard good things about this series, and it seems pretty interesting.
  • Marvel Future Avengers – What?
  • Nana Maru San Batsu – How much of a nerd am I if I say that “competitive quizzes” actually sound kinda fun?
  • New Game!! – Woot.
  • Owarimonogatari (Ge) – Well, I went through the trouble of catching up on previous arcs of Monogatari, so I might as well finish it up.
  • Princess Principal – Spy action sounds like fun. I’d be willing to check this one out.
  • Saiyuuki Reload Blast – Pass.
  • Senki Zesshou Symphogear AXZ – This still exists?
  • Shoukoku no Altair – Is this supposed to be a somewhat historical series set in an alternate world? It could be interesting.
  • Tenshi no 3P! – Looks dangerous.
  • The Reflection Wave One – Eh, I usually get pulled into the superpower shows…
  • Vatican Kiseki Chousakan – This show looks really tempting, but I might be able to control my biases.
  • Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou – Maybe?
  • Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e – Do I have to?

Summary

General thoughts – This season looks like a lot of unknown territory, which is something I welcome. I was planning on carrying Re:Creators and Sakurada Reset over from the spring season, but now I’m not so sure I can pull it off. Also, I kinda skipped the shorts, but I want to say I’m really looking forward to Tsurezure Children. I liked the manga a lot.

Probably covered – Fate/Apocrypha, Kakegurui, Made in Abyss

Very likely to watch and might be covered – Isekai Shokudou, Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni, Jikan no Shihaisha, Knights & Magic, Koi to Uso, Owarimonogatari Ge, Princess Principal, Shoukoku no Altair, The Reflection, Vatican Kiseki Chousakan

Might be watched, but probably won’t be covered – Centaur no Nayami, Gamers, Hajimete no Gal, Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun, Konbini Kareshi, Nana Maru San Batsu, New Game, Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou

Friday Fun: Spring 2017 Previews

Click here to check this post out on my personal website.

This is totally fun, right? Summary at the bottom for the lazy.

  • Boku no Hero Academia S2 – Did I cover the first season? No? Phew…that makes my life easier.
  • Gin no Guardian – You know, I was actually about to say this could be interesting, but then I found out this is another one of those Chinese web manga adaptations…and I’ve been conditioned to run like the wind from those.
  • Shingeki no Kyojin S2 – Fine…but I already read ahead in the manga, so I’m not holding back.
  • Tsugumomo – Can I not?
  • Love Kome: We Love Rice – …I like rice.
  • Sakurada Reset – Yeah, this sounds like the kind of show I would normally watch. Let’s see what happens. I’m totally not getting baited by the mystery tag.
  • Sakura Quest – Cute girls doing cute things, I presume? Why not? I haven’t watched a PA Works show in a while.
  • Busou Shoujo Machiavellism – That’s a pretty big word…maybe I should actually watch this.
  • Clockwork Planet – Yup, moving on.
  • Kabukibu – Not too sure about this one, but I might watch it just because it’s CLAMP.
  • Seikai Suru Kado – It’s either this one or the Machiavellism one, I think. This honestly looks more promising, to be fair.
  • Nobunaga no Shinobi S2 – No idea how this series got a second season, but I’m committed at this point.
  • ID-0 – This looks pretty sketchy, but I’m forced to check out the mecha shows at this point.
  • Kenka Banchou Otome – Nah…this sounds suspiciously like a reverse harem.
  • Room Mate – Are you serious?
  • Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata S2 – Oh right. I never finished the first season of this show. Guess that makes things easy.
  • Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou Ka? Gaiden: Sword Oratoria – I’m considering this just because the title alone would make my blog cry. I mean, I wasn’t a huge fan of the original series, but this is a spinoff, so it can’t be too bad, right?
  • Atom: The Beginning – Not sure about this one. On the one hand, it hits most of my triggers, but I know nothing about Astro Boy.
  • Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho – Another maybe. Maybe I can make up for not watching Re:Zero?
  • Granblue Fantasy the Animation – Nah…
  • Eromanga-sensei – Well, I read the manga, so I guess I have to watch?
  • Alice to Zouroku – Mystery series and mention of physics in the synopsis? If only it weren’t “ignoring the laws of physics”. I don’t know if I can take it. I might watch it for the fake science, though?
  • Re:Creators – I was going to veto this show, but it looks like Hiroyuki Sawano is doing the soundtrack. Let’s do it.
  • Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records – Probably a pass on this one.
  • Renai Boukun – I read the manga for this one and couldn’t really get past the introduction. But I guess if you like a yandere character, go for it?
  • Frame Arms Girl – I’m assuming this is a short, in which case sure, I can watch it.
  • Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? – My poor keyboard…
  • Fukumenkei Noise – Another maybe…baited by music.
  • Tsuki ga Kirei – Sure, I could use a romance in the next season. Let’s do it.
  • Oushitsu Kyoushi Haine – I dunno…these historical series have been a bit hit-or-miss.

Summary

General thoughts – I picked a lot of safer shows in this winter season, but it looks like I can go a bit more hardcore in the spring. Shingeki no Kyojin is likely going to be my only sequel and I’ve read the manga for a much smaller number of these shows. Looking forward to discovering new stuff. Let’s see how it goes.

Probably covered – Shingeki no Kyojin S2, Clockwork Planet

Very likely to watch and might be covered – Sakurada Reset, Busou Shoujo Machiavellism, Seikai Suru Kado, ID-0, Re:Creators

Might be watched, but probably won’t be covered – Boku no Hero Academia S2, Sakura Quest, Danmachi Sword Oratoria, Atom: The Beginning, Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho, Eromanga-sensei, Re:Creators, Tsuki ga Kirei
