Inu x Boku SS Episode 3

So this week Ririchiyo starts school. She tries to stop herself from insulting other people, but you know what they say about old habits. That aside, Ririchiyo ends being in the same class as Karuta. When Ririchiyo gets back home, she finds Soushi talking with another woman and the two kiss. It turns out she confessed to him, but he rejected her, kissing her to make her feel better.

Ririchiyo ends up snapping at Soushi, later regretting it. At the school party, Ririchiyo continues her standoffish behavior, isolating herself from everyone else. Two of her classmates end up making fun of her, but Soushi appears to defend her. Rather than allow Soushi to take retribution, Ririchiyo takes it upon herself.

I guess this episode is the start of Ririchiyo’s character development. I guess this show is supposed to be a bit of slice-of-life with Ririchiyo making friends? I don’t really see them playing the ayakashi thing too much. It kinda makes me wonder if they could make the same show with everyone being normal humans. Still, I’m enjoying it so far. Next week, it looks like we’ll meet some new characters, so that should be interesting…new friends for Ririchiyo, I guess?

Inu x Boku SS Episode 2

So this week’s episode takes a similar pattern to last week. The first half is fairly light, with Soushi, Ririchiyo, and Renshou going shopping together. Also, more antics from Soushi with his super-devotion to Ririchiyo. Ririchiyo ends up getting her first cell phone (lol). When they get back, they find out that Karuta has gone missing, so they go out to look for her.

While they’re searching, Ririchiyo triggers a Nurikabe, which essentially traps her in a dark sort of prison until morning. However, she remembers what Soushi said about being suffering when he’s away from her and chooses to activate her true powers to try and break out. Soushi also attacks the wall at the same time and they break it apart. They return home to find that Karuta was just looking for a chicken for the surprise party for Ririchiyo.

So light-hearted stuff in the beginning and demon action in the end. Let’s hope it doesn’t follow this pattern all the time because it might get boring. We still have no idea why Soushi’s so zealous, but it was nice to see Ririchiyo’s powers this week. So yeah…I don’t really know where this show is going yet. Is it supposed to just be funny or is there something that Ririchiyo is supposed to do?

Inu x Boku SS Episode 1

I was very curious about this show from the previews. It starts off by introducing Shirakiin Ririchiyo, our delightful main character that has a habit of not communicating properly (she insults people a lot >.>). She moves into the Ayakashi Manor to be alone, but finds Miketsukami Soushi there, who is a Secret Service agent tasked with ensuring her safety. Naturally, Ririchiyo tries to get rid of him, but her efforts prove to be fruitless. Soushi also seems to know Ririchiyo for some reason.

The next day, Ririchiyo is introduced to Roromiya Karuta, another Secret Service agent tasked with a different room’s occupant. Awkward introductions aside, Soushi shows Ririchiyo around the manor, and they run into another Secret Service agent, Yukinokouji Nobara, who immediately gets a little bit too clingy with Ririchiyo. The next day, Ririchiyo opens up a bit to Soushi, telling him about her lonely past from her family name. She reveals that she wishes to become more confident and interact with others.

Soushi offers to help by talking with Ririchiyo for a while. However, this show isn’t all sunshines and roses. In the night, there is a blackout and Ririchiyo is attacked. Ririchiyo’s eyes start glowing, but she calms down when Soushi arrives. Soushi’s eyes start glowing as well and he reveals his true form as a fox spirit. Karuta and Nobara also appear to show their true forms as well, and the threat is neutralized. With the action over, Soushi reveals that Ririchiyo once saved him, which is why he remains loyal to her.

So I was wondering for a while why it was called Ayakashi Manor, but I guess it makes sense. I kinda wonder what Ririchiyo’s true form is…maybe something terrifying? Nice, light comedy mixed in with the action that a story around ayakashi brings…I liked it. I read somewhere that Ririchiyo’s personality is actually tsunshun, rather than tsundere. So she’s one of those constantly depressing people? Meh…seemed okay for this first episode. I liked the opening theme. It’s something I’d probably listen to, and it looked pretty nice. I’m not completely sure where this show will go, but I’m a bit curious.
