Starting things off with a delinquent Kyouma…seems fitting.
This piece of information seems new. However, I question the mechanism behind this. Even wires, which are designed to transfer electrical energy, still generate heat energy in the process, right?
Given the way Miyabi is standing, I find it hard to believe that she fell and got stuck there. First off, she seems way too thin to get stuck in that space. And most importantly, she definitely should have some scrapes on her arm if she really slid down.
Wow…she really turned Kyouma’s life around. It looks like he’s a regular college student!
Oh no! The camera’s broken! She said before that she kept the camera because it brought Kyouma and her together, so this must be symbolism!
I guess this is muscular dystrophy or something. Not as commonly used as ALS, but still a pretty cliche disease to give Miyabi.
Yurizaki is Kyouma’s only hope for saving Miyabi’s body and she’s apparently working on some artificial flesh right now. So…this couldn’t be related to Mira, right?
This seems pretty noncommittal. Basically, he’s recruiting Kyouma on the chance that Miyabi gets chosen. I guess any chance is better than nothing, but this seems super sketchy.
Isn’t this a bit strange? We know that Miyabi eventually dies, motivating Kyouma to never use coils again, but it feels odd for it to happen off-screen while he’s in another mission. I think it would make more sense if Kyouma’s mission was somehow linked to how she dies…but let’s see where this goes.
This detail seems very important. Her head is separated from her body for the operation and now it’s missing? There’s no way that this isn’t relevant somehow. Perhaps it has something to do with Mira? She seems like the most logical candidate…
It’s really weird, but I can somewhat accept this. Basically, the fact that Miyabi died because of an unstable coil compounded with the fact that almost all of the Beasts of Grendel were wiped out by a (presumably) rogue Numbers is the reason Kyouma hates coils. If it were just Miyabi’s surgery going wrong, I would have a hard time accepting this.
A secret car? Is this the car with all of the cool gadgets? I wanna press the button!
Why am I being introduced to these guys? I get the feeling they’ll have no impact on the story of this arc. Heck, I’m guessing at least some of them will be dead soon. I have no idea whether I should remember these names or not.
Yeah, that car is really important.
This explains why he needs a car…because coils will stop working in the nothingness. But it doesn’t explain why he needs to use that specific car instead of the normal one. Maybe it’s because the writers want to destroy a car and don’t want to get rid of the iconic car we’ve been seeing.
But that aside, why are you bringing Mira if she’ll shut down?
I’m not sure how rogue energy from the fourth dimension causes water tornadoes, but sure!
I get that they’re trying to be dramatic and everything, but I can’t believe that she didn’t notice this in her periphery without the guy telling her.
So, it’s pretty much a given that we’ll finally find out what happened to Kyouma’s team on Easter Island next week. But what I’m more curious about is how this arc will link to Miyabi. Is her role done now that the flashback story has happened? Or is her accident related to this island? I really wouldn’t be surprised if it was…
