Another day, another mystery, right? I really like this second episode for a couple of reasons. First off, our Watson is shown to have martial arts training, making him extremely useful in a pinch and establishing a sort of “brains + brawn” combination in our main duo. Granted, I’m a bit annoyed that Sakurako seems to want to keep that in check with her previous trauma, but at least Shoutarou has the opportunity to contribute. Secondly, the show seems to be carrying itself as a crime show, rather than a standard mystery series…it’s more of the type of show I like to watch, so I’m looking forward to where it goes.
A lot of the scenes from the opening song would suggest to me that this series will eventually have a main antagonist for the main pair to tackle. Someone standard perhaps? Like a serial killer? Or will it be someone Moriarty-like? That would certainly make this series interesting for me. Either way, I’m excited to see how this show continues, so I’m definitely going to keep watching. As a final music note, I don’t think we got to hear the ending song last week. I quite like this song…it’s very smooth and flowing like the water depicted in the animation.
