Phew…nothing pleases me more than to watch a scientist outsmart a group of magic users. This episode really does show why I like Adlet’s character. I’m actually a bit sad that he was constantly labeled as the seventh. When you’ve decided that a culprit is obvious from the start, it’s hard to consider other possibilities. I’m actually convinced that Adlet would have still been able to discover the truth even if his life didn’t depend on it, but it’s something that can only remain in speculation. At least he’s finally in the clear, right?
I also can’t believe the episode ended with the corny mid-sentence ending as a cliffhanger. Don’t get me wrong…I expected the cliffhanger, but I didn’t think they’d do it like that. Oh well, it looks like next week’s episode will reveal the culprit all along and finally put the arc to an end. As I may have said before, I’m not really quite so interested in who the seventh is as much as what everyone plans to do with the knowledge. Do they plan to just keep the seventh around?

I also loved Adlet’s scientific explanation of how the Seventh manipulated events. And that cliffhanger was horrible. My favorite example of science beating magic has to be in the animated film “The Flight of Dragons.” Have you seen it? Other bloggers have called it a mediocre movie, but I remember enjoying it a lot as a kid.
By the way, I recall that we had a long and involved discussion on Marxism vs. Christianity, and the final question you asked was along the lines of whether there was a real difference in quality between a Marxist government and an oppressive Christian government. I became distracted with matters and did not reply, but I’m curious if you wished to continue that interesting discussion?

Yeah, I’m not too familiar with that film…might look into it, but it doesn’t seem like the sort of thing I normally watch.
I mean…sure. To be fair, though, while that discussion was interesting, I didn’t exactly go into it as a huge proponent for communism or anything. I was more arguing against the stigma it seems to have with my personal understanding of its tenets.
