Rokka no Yuusha First Impressions (1): Interesting so far

The premise for this series seemed interesting to me, so I’m going to give it a shot. Basically, the show follows Adlet Mayer, the self-proclaimed strongest man in the world. Adelt is chosen as one of the Rokka no Yuusha, the six heroes that are tasked with sealing the Demon God. I’m a little upset with this first episode because it didn’t seem like all too much stuff happened. I liked the fight between Adelt and the two warriors in the tournament (Adlet’s fighting style is very interesting and counter-intuitive for someone claiming to be the strongest), but I wasn’t really interested about the conversation between Adlet and Nashetania. Why did Nashetania waste so much time naming all of the previous heroes? Does she really expect me to remember them?

The part of the premise that isn’t revealed in the show yet is that seven heroes have been chosen as Rokka no Yuusha, meaning that one is a fake. I’m assuming that Adlet will be under suspicion given his personality and the fact that he doesn’t have a fancy power like Nashetania (who can apparently summon blades). I’m curious enough to keep watching. Music note: I quite like the opening and ending songs for this series. They’re both apparently done by Mich (not sure if it’s a group or single person). I’m interested in hearing more of their music after hearing this, though.
