Unbreakable Machine Doll Episode 9: Wait…what did Raishin fall into at the end?

[HorribleSubs] Unbreakable Machine-Doll - 09 [720p].mkv_snapshot_04.37_[2013.12.03_06.11.13]

Tales of heartbreak and betrayal. It seems that Felix is back again, or at least his family is, to exact vengeance on Charl and her own family. Naturally, Raishin will jump in and save her. I don’t really understand why Raishin had to have that conversation with Yaya, though. It basically boiled down to “I fight for my friends”, which isn’t exactly surprising. I don’t even understand why it was so surprising to him.

Anyway, Charl has attacked the headmaster, so next week is the aftermath. Based on the final scene of this week’s episode, I’m assuming the headmaster doesn’t die so easily. They wouldn’t condemn Charl so easily, right? Unless…maybe they’re replacing her with Henri! No one would ever notice!

Answer: You’re partly correct but their main objective is reinstatement. Restoring the honour of their name means that Sir Walter (Felix’s father) will be able to renter the political world. In order to do so, first they have to ‘erase’ the reason for their fall. Means they have to kill the Headmaster Edward Rutherford. It was the headmaster who denounced Felix as Cannibal Candy. Taking revenge on Charlotte wasn’t the main point its just convenient to them to use her. The point is to make something that was black and white into a grey area, even if they have to resort to crude and rough measures to do so. In fact using rough methods may be even more effective in terms of silencing the cowards from raising suspicion. The Kingsforts are renowned as philanthropists, and they’re a well-liked family. On the other hand, ever since the scandal few years back, the Belews have been a despised house— During a hunting trip with the crown prince, the count’s prized dog automaton ran wild, and mauled prince Edmund to within an inch of his life.

Answer: It’s psychology. People often changes their belief, ect. He may die if he tries to save Charlotte again. If he died then he cannot continue his revenge on Magnus/Akabane Tenzen. I know he saved Charlotte and Frey in the past but people always changed their mind especially when they think of risking their life. On the other hand Charlotte is Raishin’s enemy. It would be better for Raishin if she were to be disqualify from the Night Party. Raishin chose to save them because of the regret in the past where he could not save her sister thus blaming himself. It feels more realistic.

Timeline – before 86th seat enters means almost 13 days (the Night Party started at 100th seat and 99th) since the Night Party started. See Timeline Guide for more details on Unbreakable Machine-Doll episode 12 review.
