Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai Episode 1 Impressions

So this show probably won’t get much more coverage on this blog because it’s hard to talk much about slice-of-life. But I wanted to give my thoughts on the show. Basically, the episode introduces the main character, Segawa Yuuta, a college student. The first half of the show talks about his meeting with Oda Raika, a girl that he eventually starts to like.

The rest of the episode is the main part of the show, where Yuuta is put in a situation by his sister where he must watch over her 3 children, all girls and two of which are from her husband’s previous marriage. The eldest, Sora, also has a crush on Yuuta. So far, I like the characters. Miu and Sora have their own interesting personalities and Hina’s there to be the baby of the family.

At the moment, Yuuta’s only watching the girls as a favor, but according the summary, he’ll have to do it full-time soon. If this was comedy, though, I didn’t find anything particularly funny, but I guess there’s still time to see. Opening theme sounded fitting for the show, but it’s not really my style, so I didn’t like it so much. I guess this is supposed to be the Boku ha Tomodachi ga Sukunai of this season? We’ll just have to see.

  1. I don’t know if it will end up as successful as Boku wa Tomodachi but we will see.
Nobody i know is blogging about it this season either. I guess it would be a challenge to write about slice of life anime once a week.

Next episode will be the big shock for the girls knowing that the parents have gone missing… I think we need to see how they will play it out…:|
